Great track. much narrow spots for funny incidents and some very good overtaking points. Should be a really great race!

I've never been convinced Long Beach is a good track for racing, despite the long front straight...

Not since 99 or 98 or whatever since they started going left at turn one instead of right anyway...

But hey, I'm just a bitter old fan whose amazed that we're heading to long beach this year and they're running more than 18 cars *bitter*

The caution Milka Duno will inevitably bring out will help spice up the racing though... ;)

I'm seriously thinking of going there again. Probably Friday and Saturday sessions, tho. Probably planning to use my free ticket for the Friday session (thanks, Tamiya).

If I do go, and I get shown on TV, I'm the guy with an orange lanyard and a Toyota Racing hat.

Its the same sort of situation for USA and F1. IndyCar races are generally early evening here, which suits me just fine. :)

Its a bit late for me as well, but if its an American series then Europe shouldn't get priority when it comes to the race time.

Paul Tracy will be holding a press conference this Saturday at Long Beach, at 1.45pm ET, most likely officially announcing the 3 races he will participate in this year (Indy, Toronto and Edmonton).

Never seen Long Beach as a "fantastic" street course or that much enjoyable to race (IMO some street courses give much more pleasure for the driver like Belle Isle Park, Toronto, Surfers Paradise, Houston, etc). But Long Beach has tradition, it's in a nice place in California and has a certain glamour around it...but I wouldn't say it's an "extremely fun" street course. Despite that, I'm expecting a great race, go Helio!

From what we see, read and hear about this race it's a one big party over 3 days.

It kind of is. One is that there's plenty of stuff to do when you're bored watching cars pass by on Shoreline Blvd. and Pine Ave. There's a lifestyle expo in the Long Beach Convection Center with a hell lotta activities to do. If you go there one day, I'd suggest going there when you're bored. Some of the stuff there are pretty fun. When the track closes, there's a concert for two days in the "Rock and Roar" stage located just to the side of Seaside Way in the infield, behind the LBCC. I don't go there since the bands don't generate as much interest out of me. The restaurants around the area are pretty good, per se. Shoreline Village is a good place to take a stroll as well.

Since when did anyone actually enjoy a race in Belle Isle Park? Although I agree about the track (layout). The old one is so much better.

Should be more than one, actually.

Celebrities:
Adam Carolla
Adrien Brody
Anthony Anderson
Brian Austin Green
Christian Slater
Jesse McCartney
Patrick Warburton
Tika Sumpter
Tony Hawk
Zachary Levi

Pros:
Jimmy Vasser
Tanner Foust
Steve Millen
Marty Nothstein
Keanu Reeves (Last year's winner)
Jamie Bestwick

Charity auction winners:
Dave Pasant
Jerry Westlund

Adam Carolla is the favorite to win out of the celebrity drivers, Tanner Foust is the overall favorite.
