For what I saw (i was watching David Cup), that was a bit of a lame race. TV directing was very poor. I did lol'd after Briscoe's rookie mistake at the exit of the pitlane, though.

Ed has never been the easiest person to lap, especially when his car isn't too far off the pace of those lapping him.

Danica seemed to be running at similar speed to Ed at that point so never really had a shot at passing him without him helping out & moving off line. She seemed to be backing off less for turn 3 but she would catch him too quickly & end up getting in the dirt air & understeering wide.

However he did (As ptclaus98 said) also hold up Servia, Rahal & Moraes which allowed Dixon & Dario to build a lead, Graham & Oriol were catching them at the end so had they not been held up by Ed we may have seen a more intresting fight for the win.


Anyway I didn't think the race was too bad, had some entertaining moments, having the OnBoards from race control as well as timing made things more intresting as I was able to pick up many things the crap director missed.

Looking forward to Homestead, will be a good championship fight, hopefully down to the last lap again which is always fun

He's quite clearly talking about Carpenter, not Danica.

If they can't even get by a bunch of slower cars, how can they have a fight with the race leader even if they can actually catch them? These cars are just too bad in aeros that they create a good gap in turn 3 and 4 while the slipstream effect is so minimum that even after a whole long 2 km full acceleration zone they could merely make up a few meters without the boost.

That's what you get for providing them high-downforce cars. Although the track itself might actually be the reason why the race sucked...
