Driving standards have been pretty solid this year.

That's true, imo GP2 driving standards have been worse than GP3 over the season.

Junior open wheel series and Monza just don't go together very well.

Does someone have to die before they clamp down on drivers swerving around all over the straight? Or in a braking zone from top speed?

Some of the most shocking driving I've seen for a long time. First corner was clumsy and stupid, although that could have happened in any series. But then taking somebody out when you're driving around in a damaged car? Turning into somebody whilst flat out on the straight? Then moving two ways in a braking zone and causing a huge accident? It does not require any skill to block someone by pushing them off the circuit.

Penalties: Cullen 10 spots (start crash), Eriksson 5 spots (Parabolica crash), Gomez 5 spots (Fong crash) in Abu Dhabi race 1.

I know the start crash took out more cars, but that was a simple mistake of braking too late/being caught out by the car ahead braking early. Why is the penalty twice as costly as turning into somebody in the braking zone and sending them flying?

At least there are penalties for those incidents.

Like that guy getting suspended for flying over the back of another car. The penalties are shockingly inconsistent.
