my perfect calender

Indy500

that's it, the only race. Either way, this series is doomed. 0.35 ratings, bad races, terrible tracks, an awful car. Just let it die and see what happens in one or two years.

You need to keep a series so some places don't go out of business while American Open Wheel racing is having a rest and working out how to do it properly.

Otherwise places like Toronto, Long Beach etc might suddenly find themselves running A1GP to keep things going and then not want to share when a decent AOW series shows up...

Actually maybe that's not such a bad thing. A1GP for the decent IRL tracks!

Can't count on A1GP to keep them going, part of it's already gone into administration.

Toronto and Long Beach are temporary circuits, can they 'go out of business'? Don't they just react to demand of races whenever its there?

Or without the revenue that the race brings in the city councils will build a carpark or whatever on the layout and suddenly there's no place to come back to.

It is easier to maintain an event than shut it down and bring it back again....

Don't worry, we're not the only guys to regret the Champcar...Make a new Lola or Dallara or Panoz chassis, provide two rubbers manufacters (Good Year and Bridgestone), return to 2.65 Turbo-charged Engine, and some manufacters (Ford, Chevy, Porsche, Mazda, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Ferrari and BMW will be cool 8) ), keep the tops drivers (Dixon, Castroneves, Franchitti, Kanaan) and rising talents (Rahal, Andretti, Power...) and that will be a great return of the REAL Indycar World Series.

But now, it's just dreaming. Shit.

btw, i don't pay attention to my number of races. 8O I correct that:

2004 CCWS calendar (but retire Vancouver and Las Vegas) + Indy 500 +Motegi, Michigan, Fontana, St.Pete, Watkins Glen, Mid-Ohio and Detroit Belle Isle = 20 Races. So, Much as the 2000-03 seasons.

Grand Prix of St.Petersburg - St.Petersburg, Florida
Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach - Long Beach, California
Grand Prix of Monterrey - Fundidora Park, Monterrey, Nùevo Léon, Mexico-Two rounds in Mexico? Brazil deserves it more.
Firestone Firehawk 600 - Texas Motor Speedway, Fort Worth, Texas-Texas in late spring? Isn't it hot as balls?
Indianapolis 500 - Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Indianapolis, Indiana
Milwaukee Mile 250 - Milwaukee Mile, Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Rockingham 500 - Rockingham Motor Speedway, Corby, England, U.K
German 500 - Eurospeedway Lausitzring, Klettwitz, Bradenburg, Germany

New Hampshire Grand Prix - New Hampshire International Speedway, Loudon, New Hampshire
Grand Prix of California - Laguna Seca Raceway, Monterey, California

Ontario and Meadowlands. :p

A calendar that contains Surfer's, Long Beach, Indy, Texas, Watkins, Assen, Elkhart Lake, Laguna Seca, Cleveland, Portland, Mid Ohio, Toronto, Hermanos Rodriguez, Brands Hatch, Homestead and Zolder would be indeed a good calendar.

And I would add Dega. :p

Since the IRL turns anything it touches to shit, you might as well push for a schedule full of tracks you hate.

You don't have to remind members that you hate IRL on every fucking post you make.

Hell, you don't even have to read the IRL threads if it bothers you that much.

Yeah, I hate the IRL and so everything about it I see is negative. The IRL in reality is positioned for growth and could overtake NASCAR in several years since they are on a downslope. Better coverage on Versus is better than higher ratings on ABC/ESPN. Any series with the Indy 500 is a top racing series and it has some of the best drivers in the world.
