Easily the best race of the season, really gutted about PT. I wouldn't say it's 100% Helio fault, but I think he should've let PT through before the left hander instead of turning into him. The crown giving Helio hell was epic.

Oh and someone should slap Moraes aroudn a little bit. From what I've heard Viso did.

And I agree with codename, the decision to put Dario in front of PT was one of the most retarded ever. It was one of the few times I saw JV mad.

Someone said on another forum that Dario beat Tracy to the pit exit line by .2 of a second, which is why Dario was in front of PT.

Don't shoot the messenger, that's what I heard.

Purely a racing incident.

If I had to assign a "fault" though, I would say it was when PT stuck his nose into HC's racing line at the corner. They touched and then it was chaos from then on out. Can't fault HC for powering into control (and in the process nailing PT), really. Then again, I can't fault PT much for sticking his nose in the corner either.

Obviously a Canadian crowd wouldn't agree with my analysis. :)

Both drivers involved at least knew how to race. WTF Moraes?

Watching Tracy fling his car out of turn 3 (most of the time on opposite lock) made me wonder why I've had little time for the guy over the years. Was a bloody excellent (and exciting) drive on his part; reminded me of some of the old F1 races I have been watching recently where a certain other Canadian was peddling his Ferrari in a remarkably similar manner.

Its my understanding that IRL officials put PT behind Dario because they took the positions from the timing line near the entry of pit-lane at which point Dario was still ahead. PT passed Dario when Dario was stationary in his pit box according to Jimmy Vasser.

If Dario had gone across the pit exit blend line ahead of PT then fine, that happen before & I understand how that works, However using the pit-entry timing line is something I can't recall ever been used before to determine track position, as far as I was aware the pit-entry timing line's were only used to tell timing & scoring when cars were in the pits & could also be used to determine if a car had violated the pit speed limit.

Here's the Moraes/Viso collision that took place after the race:

None of the PT Dario stuff would have happened if Ed Carpenter wasn't so useless.

Maybe a job opening for Bourdais there.
It almost looked like the wheel got pulled out of Helio's hands when the front wheels touched, he should have let PT go knowing his tires were not as good and PT is not points racing.

You can be pretty sure that's the first time it ever came up. And probably the last time it'll ever be mentioned too.

Just seen the after race collision now. Erm is Farfus in an IRL car?
Turning into and spinning a car ahead right into the wall is a complete disgrace and yet another incident about this race that has made my blood boil!

Warning: IRL is bad for your health. It either bores or infuriates! :p

And plus all those amazing passes he made, especially on Conway and Dixon on 2 consecutive laps, I just can't believe some people once said that he'd passed his prime, he's still driving like he used to in the past decades, with his speed, his roughness, all unchanged.

How long until Doornbos is replaced by Seabass?

Tracy vs. Bourdais @ Edmonton

Bourdais would need to bring a lot of money to get Doornbos's seat. NHL's second seat isn't cheap.

I think that many teams would be interested on having Bourdais. The thing is if Bourdais is interested in a return to the US or going to sportscars.
