I am tempted to go but the support races are very weak (three different categories of Caterhams) and EuroBOSS (they are not weak but the drivers won't push their cars too much)

So I am still mulling over it at the moment.

I can't believe this is actually going to happen.

It is a bit crazy after so many false starts that this idea did actually come to fruition.

I remember a story in Autosport a few years back about dead series, and this was in there, along with that cool looking British V8 Supercar series, and the Superfund Formula.

Too bad this happened, and not the V8s, though.

You mean Premier1?

SCV8 was meant as a direct competitor to the BTCC, and while the cars (like the Jaguar) all looked really cool, they had barely more horsepower than the pokey touring car entries.

Yeah, that was it. They had a Leeds United (lol) car on display.

That's my main memory of Superleague 1 - the Leeds car on the pitch at Elland Road. Funny looking back at it now.

Just saw the trailer for the race on TVI. I hate this TV channel, but it's a BIG popularity boost for Superleague here in Portugal to have them broadcasting the races - I believe it still is the channel with the highest TV shares nation-wise. Showing the race live on Sunday afternoon...!

I bet it's going to get highest shares than F1, which is on a pay channel. Unless the organization of the races flops bad early and TVI is forced to drop it.

I still dont really see the point of this series. I dont how beneficial it is to either sport. I hardly see Glasgow Rangers fans turning up to Donington Park to support their team and so on.

I will reserve judgemnet until it gets a few races under its belt, but as of now, I am a bit skeptical.

Im quite surprised to see racing on TVI. They dont even talk about it on the news. And i think the commentary will be terrible.

I think you can expect the Rangers fans to be more concerned about the small matter of playing Celtic this weekend.

I wonder how many football fans even know about the series to be honest.

Maybe RTL might stream the races as they have the rights. But 1 of the presentators of RTL said that they didn't drive more than 3 laps per stint because of some problems, what's right on that?

 True. I forgot about that. But Tambruello brings up an important point. How many fans actually know (or care for that matter) about the series?

well, here in Dortmund they presented the ca on the BVB Family day infront of 30.000 people. Although I'm afraid to say none of them will actually watch the series, or drive to the races. There's no media attention at all about the Superleauge Formula here, only on motorsport news pages.
