Paul Page deserves better than to be commentating hot dog eating contests.

BRING HIM BACK

i'd rather have him stick with commentating on NHRA drag racing than the IRL.

At the SportsBusiness Daily/SportsBusiness Journal Motorsports Marketing Forum at the Westin at Times Square in N.Y which started yesterday the question of whether or not the IRL is profitable was put to Tony George.

Quote:
Q: Is IRL profitable as a stand-alone business?

George: Not yet.

Q: In 2013?

George: It has to be or there won’t be a 2013.

I'm glad he is putting 2013 as the year where it needs to start making a profit because it has been fairly obvious that the IRL has never made a profit yet.

I've never seen the channel, but it seems that the only thing wrong with Versus and his IRL deal is the fact that it doesn't have the reach that ESPN has.

EDIT: In the article is doesn't say that the races will be live on Versus. It says that they will be live in indycar.com and shown on Versus.

The races will be live on Versus and ABC. Whether any one watches is another question.

I meant the Indy Lights races. rgordon said that they were going to be live but they aren't.

And to anyone who thought Porsche would join the IRL, they officially said yesterday that that would not be happening.
