And not live in 2009 at the moment, quite enjoyed the brief coverage last year on eurosport 2.

When did that happen, just out of interest?

That's friggin' pathetic.

On the ALMS/Grand-Am debate... Grand-Am has some excellent racing with multiple chassis and engine builders. I just wish the cars looked a little less ugly. ALMS has some good racing too, with some very slick looking cars. They're just too dependent on manufacturer involvement. Something that has plagued sportscar racing for decades.

Your enjoyment of a race doesn't always have to be purely based on how entertaining the race is. Ospi, for instance might have found a V8 racing thrilling because his man was in a close battle for 10th, whereas the rest of us watching might roll our eyes and go this is dreadful.

NASCAR races immediately became more interesting for me when there was 1 or 2 drivers that I had heard of before and felt some sort of affinity towards (Montoya, Franchitti). A1 doesn't work for me just yet because it is to me 20 odd drivers in circles. OK, I want GB to win, but it's not the heroes/villians element because I know the drivers in F1.

Yeah. I've learned lately that not every great race has to have passing on every lap, a 3 way scrap for the lead, loads of overtaking and no firm conclusion until the final lap. Some races are slow burners and it takes about 2 or 3 viewings to appreciate how good a race is

Doornbos hoping to use his ING sponsorship money to get an IRL seat in 2009. Possibly NHL.

Has ING got the money to spare at the moment? Unless they're already committed to fund Doornbos anyway for 2009, doubt they'd be very interested right now.

The term "race car driver" pisses me off so much.

54 in a 35 was exactly what I got on my only speeding ticket so far. I don't think my fine was that big though.

I got a $200 ticket for doing 128 in a 65. No points on my license, no court date, no record on my insurance. I got EXTREMELY lucky.

Especially when it is referenced to Danica Patrick.

I did not say it was 1960's racing. I said it was 1960's tech and yes there is a difference.

As I sit watching the 1969 Monaco GP on ESPN Classic, I can say I do quite enjoy watching 1960s technology in 2009.

I wish ESPN Classic USA would bother to show races like that. Instead there's just classic boxing and American Gladiators :(
