Good race, much more entertaining than the first race. Can't wait for next week, finally some oval action again.

Going to CCF is just painful now. The whole "I'm a bigger fan than you, I don't secretly watch the IRL races and I hate them 10x more than you" pissing contest is just sad to watch now CC has gone away...

I posted there when CC was alive and there were a lot of good members who didn't get involved in that whole "whoo, shoot FTG in the head with a gun with Brian France's fingerprints on it..whooo" cheerleading shit. Going in and talking about Champcar races in Champcar threads was fine.
Now you can't do that any more so there's no real point of it being there just so they can all count down each other for daring to disagree with the prom queen Lisas because she once sucked off Gentallozzi and won't hear a bad word against him

*end rant*

But still, Champcar was better than IRL at everything apart from having a well of money thrown at it. That's about the long and short of it.

Firestone Indy Lights: Remind me why did I even bother watching the race...

That race made me think the IRL race would be horrible. Since they're basically just smaller IRL cars with even less horsepower.
The cars just had ZERO ability to put the power down out of the hairpin quick enough to stay close to the car in front, it was pitiful
BRING BACK ATLANTICS
As it was the IRL was was scrappy but better than I expected....you need a lot of cautions to make a race at LB worth watching.
I pile up helps too, the IRL just did it at the wrong end of the course this time.
They'll learn

Excess downforce on the cars invalidates your argument.

I'm sorry, but,

ChampCar had the Lola, which was a damn fine looking car, it could stay on the ground, and it was safe.
The IRL has the Dallara, which looks like shit, races like shit, and probably drives like shit. It gets in the air way too easily.

That's my argument. I just hope they've fixed that particular design flaw with the Dallara before they get to Indy.

Must be sad to live like that. Trying to take pleasure from finding all the bad things said about something. Fantastic.

You can not look at past CART / IndyCar cars and say "meh...id rather race this Dallara"

Nobody took off last year...

Oh and don't forget, Champ Cars had the Panoz which like it's IRL counterpart liked to injure anyone who sat in it.

Oh and the Reynard was better than the Lola.

Don't speak ill of the dead series.... :( :p

CC's Panoz issues were unfortunate but would've been ironed out with a group test session....
Unfortunetely lack of money forced CC to do it's testing on track, in public with everyone watching.
By the end of 2007 they were getting better with the Panoz and were already working on the sitting positon....if 2008 would've happened I'd have bet things would've been a lot better both racing and safety wise....

But hey...c'est la vie eh?

Thankfully.

I try to forget about any Panoz OW chassis and think instead about the old Lolas they had... hell, they should have stuck with them. So much safer than the DP01s. I'm just thinking of Katherine Legge's accident at Road America for example...

This is very true as well. The Reynard 98i is the most beautiful OW car of all time. It's just perfect.
