Entertaining race. Bit of a farce though. Does anyone else think that the jump start penalty for Ireland was completely wrong?

That was not for a jumpstart but because the crew were working on the car too close to the start. Excelent race, those slipstreaming battles on the main straight were so awesome. And good that Ireland fought that Penalty and just finished the race, the stewards hand out penalty's way too quickly these days. Just let them race, IRL didn't pass AUS on purpose on that restart.

All in all we saw some excelent driving today, Carrol working his way back up. Jani almost flawless as usual, Albuquerque making some great passing moves. Yes, there were crashes, but that was because it was hard racing all the way through the field.

A1GP + a fast wide open track = epic racing.

Ah well in that case the first drivethrough would be perfectly fair then.

Why they couldn't tell anyone the reason rather then let us guess I don't know.

It was pretty obvious though, the Dutch commentator pointed it out as it was happening before the formation lap.

I was watching the pay channel broadcast, which only has 1 man and he misses half the stuff, and the half he sees, only says them way after they happened.

I still watched a bit through SIC, and they werent really talking about what was going on, so i changed back.

You'd better put your TV on mute and tune in the Live Audio provided by A1 GP website.

Couceiro (the SIC guy) is very knowledgable, but indeed a bit dull - his partner I think isn't a specialist in motorsport at all, but held his own well together. I think that pair did ok. As for SportTV, the guy they use for A1GP is just plain terrible.

Portimão is approved for open-wheel races IMO, as this was a bit more fun than I expected - specially with them using the quick version of T1! T1 still brought passing anyway, which is excellent.

I was a bit disappointed with the crowd though, it seemed like only the main grandstand was packed. The south of the country has a reputation for not being as passionate for motorsport as the north and centre, which would explain it. I believe the lack of people is also because the track is in kinda of a deserted area, although not too far away from the Algarve towns.

I watched the races today, first A1GP races I've watched all season, and the racing was excellent even if there were baffling stewards decisions that tried to ruin it ala F1.

The circuit is terrific.

Ireland have been punished. Thus, their finish position is 5th.

The Championship Standings, subsequently, have changed and now Switzerland leads with 88, Ireland goes to second with 86 and Portugal keeps in third but now with 82 points.
