Is the Lola an old A1GP car, old F3000 car or what?

Sounds like a pretty interesting concept for the championship, although it's kinda a scam if you look at the headlines only. "Hey look, 1 million prize!". Then you need to pay 380k euros to join, and even if you win all the races the most you can get is 480k. It's unlikely any driver will make a profit - unless the money paid to join comes all from the sponsors, and they get the prize money for themselves.

They also seem to be going along the lines of F2 by almost getting rid of the concept of "team".

Ah yes, I fell into the trap noikeee mentioned about only seeing the large prize fees and missing the registration fee part.

Doesn't mean anything if it doesn't have decent TV coverage anyway...

It's the old Lola A1GP car - it was already used this year in Euroseries 3000 (which therefore wasn't even F3000 any more).



Not sure I'd see it as a scam, just that the budget goes to the organisers (who then pay the engineers & teams) rather than directly to a team. A good driver may be able to convince sponsors that they'll win back most of the budget needed (possibly more). Whether they could or not would depend on how strong the competition is.



Exactly, I hope the coverage isn't just delayed highlights programmes with piss-poor, shamefully bad commentary as European F3 Open has had on Motors this year.
