Great effort by Doornbos. It'd be great if he drove all races for the Dutch team.

Whoever decided on Clarke driving is an idiot, he doesn't know the car and therefore is having to play catchup.

What a boring qualifying, why did i wake up to watch that ? 1 qualifying lap per drivers for each session is stupid, so in the first 10 min nobody is on the track and everyone go out in the last minutes...

Ireland seems to dominate on this track.

I'll be at the track so I'll probably be thinking it's awesome, but for those of you back home it might be a boring race.... but you never know what will happen in A1  :flag:

By the way since you're from NZ, do you know the name of this racing series which was run today ? The race was just brilliant, I want to get more info about this category.

Just watched the recording of qualifying, team Ireland/netherlands are really making thier colaboration pay of. Especially with Doornbos at the wheel the dutch car is very fast in qualifying.

and an article about the TV coverage this weekend:
Quote:
As if any proof were needed on how A1GP continues to push the boundaries of broadcast technology, a record number of in-car cameras are being used to televise this weekend’s races in A1GP Taupo, New Zealand.

In addition to the array of HD track cameras out on track covering every possible lap, crash and passing move, there are more in-car cameras being used than ever before in a single event in the series – 53.

That’s an average of 2.8 cameras per competing car this weekend – with them mounted everywhere from roll hoops, cockpits, front and rear wings to the new ‘eye-line’ camera on Indonesia’s car, which is designed to bring you exactly what the driver sees.
And of course, you can watch these cameras by following every race live over the internet, for free, on www.A1GP.com/livevideo

53 onboard cams :eyecrazy: They won't miss an incident during these races, that's for sure.

I'll probably do what I've done for the other races this season - download it off RU, and have it sit on my computer remaining unwatched.

I highly doubt that they will be able to receive 53 onboard signals at the same time...

The re-aired on the same channel at 7:30pm to 9:30pm same day (Sunday).

Those were the muscle car races, not really a 'full on' racing series.

I believe that A1GP have access to 8 OnBoard's at any one time through the Gigawave digital system.

Speaking of OnBoard's, they have a nice angle on the Indonesia car:

I'm quite disappointed with Brazil's paint scheme...I thought this gray scheme was provisional for the first 3 races of 2008 and then in 2009 I believed they were going to back using the colors blue, green, yellow and white in all of the car....but, this paint scheme is just WTF, aswell as Guimarães in the steering wheel. This boy is not ready and skilled for A1GP!!! How many times will I have to say that, he should try British F-3 first...
