Even RObert Kubica, Augusto Farfus Jr and Phillipp Eng are drivind the F1 and WTCC cars! Plus the M1, a Le Mans Car and motorcyucling exhibitions.

But the most important is the racing: Esteban Gutiérrez is like a chosen young driver to be the future Mexican superstar he is just 17 and is the Formula BMW Europe champion. Esteban has a great talent and is the favorite to win in front of his crowd...But he has not raced here (Mexico City) before though. Still, belive me, he will be very very hard to beat (I hope!).

Esteban could be the driver that can make my generation (who are younger than 30 years, practically) see anoher Mexican driver in F1 -the last one was Rebaque, almost 30 years ago- (probably our other hope looks to eb Sergio Pérez).

The other Mexican racng is Alfonso Toledano Jr. Some of you may remeber his father (Alfonso Toledano), who was Ayrton Senna's teammate in the British Formula Ford...And he sometmes beat the great Ayrton and he was practically signed for the Osella in 1986 (year that F1 came back to México) but some people in México prevented him (that's what has made us step up back historically). Ayrton came to México and told Alfonso: "Hey! What are you doing? You should be driving!" THE rest is history...

Alfonso Jr has been rcing in the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez since he was 4 years old and he knows the track very very well. Last year he won a race of the Panam GP Series, the Latin American Formula Renalt here, and the FRenalt2.0 is more powerful than theF-BMW.

But what you don't know is that just having him driving is something to be very happy about, after an accident that could've had the worst consequences last year in Puerto Rico...Thank God he is still with us. "Picho" was not able to drive for almost a year and he just raced 2 events of the Formula BMW Americas (one in USA and the other one as a support of the Brazilian G.P.) and the Formula BMW Pacific event as supoort for the Chinese Grand Prix. There he just raced to see his feet could do OK (he needed support devices to walk but was already racing!)...But in his home track, let's see! He will not be one of he last driver, you'll see!

I'm too excited to see an F1 in a racetrack for the first time in my life! (I saw the Renalt being driven by Giancarlo an Nelsinho at the Mexico City Roadshow, but it's not the same).

Wow, FBMW on that long straight should be awesome, they'll definately be slipstreaming each other 2 or even 3 times due to the length of it!

I know I asked this in the Events this weekend thread so apologies for repeating myself, but any TV Coverage this weekend? :?

Why not live? It's not like they have other live sports on at the same time this weekend. The first world finals in Bahrain were shown live by them, they should have continued to do that.

If someone can record it and then upload it, it would be awesome. I will go but would also like to see the Motors TV version. 8)

It was a great event that had ZERO promotion (The 2 national TV companies were totally absent). Esteban Gutiérrezwas 3rd, behind Alexander Rossi and Michael Christensen...Unfortunately he let the cluth out too soon and he had to defend all of the race, but it was still a good result for a future (or already born?) hero...
