Stoegi isn't here, hence why there is no thread for this and his MACAU FEVER.

lol.. true...

Sounds like theres been a few incidents already, in F3 and WTCC.

F3 » Mortara secures provisional pole at Macau.
Thursday, 13th November 2008

Edoardo Mortara leads the way in the first qualifying session at Macau – despite a accident.

Edoardo Mortara secured provisional pole position for the Windsor Arch F3 Macau Grand Prix in first qualifying but was left frustrated after damaging his Signature-Plus Dallara later in the session.

The Italian had been fastest in the morning practice and maintained his pace throughout an incident-filled qualifying session as he steadily improved his lap time.

However, qualifying came to an abrupt end for the F3 Euroseries runner with little more than a minute remaining when he was unable to avoid the car of Masaka Matsushita, who had spun at Police, and made contact with the Ombra Racing car.

It left Mortara with mixed emotions following the session as, while pleased to have taken pole, he was also disappointed to have damaged the nose of his car in an incident that brought the session to an early end.

“It was really disappointing,” Mortara, who posted a best time of 2min 12.416secs, said. “I was right behind him when he went off, and there was no warning and nothing I could do. Luckily I hit him square on, so the only damage is to the nose. The car should be repaired for the morning.”

The session was red flagged two times prior to the final incident involving Mortara and Matsushita. James Jakes was pushing hard to improve his pace when he spun into the barriers at R-Bend after 17 minutes, while Nicola de Marco also crashed at the same spot following the restart.

During practice, Kazuya Oshima and Walter Grubmuller both went off at Maternity Bend while Mika Maki crashed heavily at Fishermen's and was forced to miss qualifying as a result.

MACAU FEVER was the most pathetic thing ever.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if it was the case that no one could be bothered to start a thread because it's a pain to find all the info. But then I can't complain because I gave my approval to the format

Btw the FIA Intercontinental Cup is a ridiculous name

Finally a channel airing F3 again in Europe. Best TV coverage since 2004 when RTPi showed it live.

In the official site there are many videos available. Unfortunely at least for me the dl speed is about 16kb/s, similar to ISDN. Takes over 20 minutes to download 20MB vid. :yuk: They really should consider uppping the stuff on the other server than using their own.

Macau, one of most legendary GPs. Normally I might watch it, but last year races were such disappointments(Can't actually remember a thing about them) that I don't want to spoil my good night sleeps due to some dull WTCC race. Obviously, as I have now decided not to watch it, the weekend will be the most eventful in history. Well, will record them though. ;)

Wow, motorcycles are a bit faster than Porsches :eyecrazy:

Hopefully someone will capture some bike action, not only the crashes (hopefully there won't be any, not fun to kiss metal barriers and concrete walls I guess)

Nice job from van Dam!! Afther qualifying yesterday he allready said he didn't gave it all in his fast laps, but I'm still suprised with the pole position

too bad Vanthoor couldn't get on track, he should have started around p20 if he participated

Feel somewhat sorry and somewhat annoyed for Bird. 2nd, and then he missed the weight check... :whistling:

Mortara 3rd though, that's who I'm rooting for.
