F1 Academy is F1's answer to W Series, an all-female racing series, with the intent of being in the official F1 ladder, below W Series and F3.

This season will have 7 rounds of 3 races each with ART, Prema, Carlin, Campos and MP Motorsport committing to field 3 cars each. The car is a Tatuus, similar to what is currently being used in the regional F4 series.

Calendar and lineup will be updated as it is announced.

Lena Buhler is the first driver to be announced, for ART.

Lineup:
Quote:
ART:
Lena Buhler
Carrie Schreiner
Chloe Grant

Prema:
Bianca Bustamante
Chloe Chong
Marta Garcia

Campos:
Nerea Martí
Lola Lovinfosse
Maite Cáceres

Carlin:
Jessica Edgar
Abbi Pulling
Megan Gilkes

MP:
Amna Al Qubaisi
Hamda Al Qubaisi
Emely de Heus

An F1 Academy where the first announced driver is older than the F1 champion. OK...

Bustamante (Prema) has now been announced, which is perhaps a better fit.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Jessica Edgar (Jonny's cousin) is Carlin's first signing. 7th in GB4 last season, scored a podium.

Nerea Martí takes a side step from W Series and joins Campos, strong championship contender.

By the current logic, MP are probably going to sign someone Dutch.

Another youngster joins ART, 24 year old Carrie Schreiner, who last drove single seaters in 2016. She's been doing well in GT's however and is a class winner of the N24.

Abbi Pulling joins Carlin. Likely championship winner, if W Series performances are anything to go by.

Calendar is out. Very compressed and apparently in standalone events and the only race that will support F1 is Austin.

Is W Series coming back? I suppose this Academy series officially replaces them?

I still don't get it why they can't merge them to create one 30-car-series instead of two series with 15 cars. One pileup at the start and you're left race with 10 cars. It's like watching Euroformula Open. *Yawn.*

Doubt W Series will come back. FIA won't do anything to help it now that they have this championship. Like what they did with F3.

This was supposed to be a feeder series to it, F3 to W Series F2...

Would've worked better if W Series didn't go bust...

Lola Lovinfosse joins Campos. Unimpressive in Spanish F4 but only 18.

Maite Cáceres completes Campos. Very new to formulas, only did a few races in F4 USA last year.

Amna and Hamda Al Qubaisi buy their way into MP. At least Hamda doesn't seem to be complete garbage, race winner in F4 UAE and podium finisher in Italian F4.

Emely de Heus completes MP. She was pretty rubbish in W Series last year and F4 UAE this year.

Marta Garcia also "graduates" from W Series and completes the lineup with Prema.
