The series is just about insolvent.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Free entry and all costs paid by the series might have been a novel idea but unworkable with minimal tv income when at the same time calendar expanded to flyaway races. I guess banked too much on the F1 support bill effect.

Pretty wet qualifying right now. Red flag, probably over weather.

Race control gave the green flag for 15 minutes but whoever controls the pit exit decided to keep it shut.

Massive downpour as soon as the cars left the pits. Red flag for good. Marta Garcia on pole, Chadwick P8.

Chadwick messed up an overtake for P5 and crashed out. SC with 3 mins to go, probably won't restart.

Edit: Nvm, one lap shootout

All remaining rounds have been cancelled. Chadwick is champion.

Quote:
W Series CEO Catherine Bond Muir told media outlets including Autosport on Monday there had been significant interest from potential investors since news emerged of the financial difficulties, giving her confidence the series would return in 2023.

..

Bond Muir informed the W Series drivers of the news earlier on Monday afternoon, and said the championship remained committed to retaining its existing structure going forward to ensure drivers do not need to fund their own seats.

“I think they are concerned about the structure of the business going forward and whether they’d be asked to supply money next year,” said Bond Muir.

W Series quickly becoming IFM/Superleague. Hopefully most drivers can find a place in F4, F-Regional or Euroformula Open series next year.

It just got too ambitious. Going to Miami, Singapore, Cota and Mexico instead of Italy, Belgium, Austria or the Netherlands is a massive financial risk, which could've been spent in introducing DRS or push to pass, which the racing would benefit wit.

No-one has gotten their money.

Good thing for Chadwick that DHL are picking up her tab for Indy NXT. The rest are not so fortunate.
