Not sure, but I'm starting to think the alternative strategy was the way to go

Russia 1-2!

They haven't had this much success in Hungary since 1956!

Very clean and well managed race by Mick today. Did about as well as he could given the strategy.

Nicely done, Bobby Blackman.

A career in trying to drag the Alfa off the back row awaits.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Great singing, the wodka is already open.

Ferrari staff coming over so they can at least celebrate something this season.

I do feel bad for Mick, though:

Spielberg 1: silly mistake ruins his feature race, which because F2 is F2 it ruins his sprint race too and he finishes 7th
Spielberg 2: slightly iffy wet qualifying, improves well in the race to finish 4th, then on for a good result in the sprint race when the fire extinguisher goes off
Hungary 1: leading the cars on the standard strategy, only to get mugged by 2 drivers on the alternate including his team mate and finishes 3rd

As a result he's 7th, 44 points behind his team mate after 5 races. He's had the pace but because of the gap and the short season, his championship's basically over already. Still, looking at where Alfa are, another year in F2 may not necessarily be a bad thing...

Disappointed in the stewards that Ghiotto's Dirty block on the outside of turn 3 wasn't penalised.

That was like Senna hitting Mansell's wing off with his late chop without the mitigating circumstance of having to avoid a slow backmarker too

As the team radio said, if that wasn't dirty driving, I don't know what is.

FIA always are lenient on these kind of swerve blocks and that gives the drivers the message to keep doing them. Ridiculous.

Aside from that, fun race. I love it when the tyre strategy means the racing isn't over after the final pitstops, and there was a lot of tast passing here today
It's getting to the point that the outside t2 inside t3 move is one of my favourite overtakes in all of motorsports. Love seeing that bravery pay off and we got plenty of that today.

A great race.

And, just because misery loves company:

I knows the Formula 2s. Can't understand why Virtuosi brought Ilott in so early

Posts that aged well

Yeah, that'll distract them...*cough* :o

Have the F2 strategic geniuses dropped the ball again?
