Credit to Schumacher for at least trying to take some initiative at the start and failing, rather than being passive and failing like Ilott today who had a very uninspiring race to say the least. Ultimately, the championship came down to consistency and Ilott's campaign had far too many valleys to go with the peaks. Well deserved championship for Schumacher.

Never seen someone try to throw away a championship so hard and still win it.

Oh well, he's in F1 anyway, as he would've been title win or not.

Good luck dealing with Leclerc at the peak of his performance, Mick

Drugovich signs with Uni Virtuosi for 2021. Great news. Hopefully he will be a title contender next year in a better team.

That's great news. Hope one of the driver academies snaps him up. He's really impressed me this year

Really looking forward to seeing the development of Shwartzman, Lundgaard and Drugovich next year and scrapping it out for the 2021 title hopefully.

Gelael has announced he's moving on.

There's finally some footage of Gelael's accident at Barcelona (tl;dr: sausage kerbs)

Ouch. So was it the kitting the sausage kerb or the landing that did the damage.

It's just another example that sausage kerbs are too dangerous. Far safer ways of keeping the drivers from going wide.

The landing in those kind of incidents is bad for the back.

Since nobody's mentioned it yet, Deledda will be in the series this year. What could possibly go wrong? 8O

Deledda has had a distinctively poor career to date with no stand out performances or results.

But quite honestly after his shenanigans on public roads he should be kept well away from the race track.

It seems like the fear of gimmicks & loopholes with the new format is real. You know this "vote of confidence" usually works totally against the intentions. I mean, they fear drivers don't want to qualify on pole. How pathetic is that? This change for the sake of a change is destined to blow up in FIA's face for sure.

Yea if they didn't want people trying to play games with the new format, they shouldn't have come up with one that was so absurdly gimmicky and frankly making it harder for new audience to follow. The previous years format worked great. They've taken it a bit too far now...

I think the fact that winning pole nets a driver 4 points AND starting first on the points-heavy feature race are enough to encourage full effort in qualifying. There's a lot to debate about all the changes in general, I know, but as far as qualifying gimmicks it sounds to me like they've thought of a good system to prevent that stuff.
