It's really poor race craft from Mick to close up on your team mate because you know his tyres are going off (he may well have been told this by his team too), then chop across his nose like Ralf did to Barrichello in Brazil that time and expect him to be able to stop

Give him a goddamn wide berth, extra because of the combination of the tyre life and he is your team mate
Don't cut over his nose, remove all his downforce and expect him to be able to stop

I believe this thread is in need of some brevity, courtesy of FOM's official mouthpiece.

Also pointless giving Mick a penalty given he was 14 seconds ahead of the guy behind

Mick could have certainly been a bit more cautious and taken a wider entry into the corner instead of simply taking the racing line. But that incident to me is 75% on Shwartzman and 25% on Schumacher. His tires were completely shot and he would've known that Mick had a significant pace advantage at that stage. Yet he continued to put up an unnecessarily aggressive defense (on his teammate nonetheless) and goes barreling into that corner even with a large part of Schumacher's car already ahead of him. Needs to learn when it's time to cleanly give up the position and secure a good haul of points, especially considering he's fighting for the championship.

To be honest, I thought it was a racing incident but that definitely wasn't the consensus online, and I also like Mick so I am a little biased

It looked 100% Schumacher's fault to me. He even apologised profusely on the radio on the cool down lap. You can't just turn across the front of somebody and expect them to disappear.

Good racing though in both F2 & F3 again this weekend. Keep it up lads & lasses.

Oh, and Ticktum can go and crawl back up whoever's arse hole it was he fell out of.

Well I could flip that around and say, you can't just go barreling into a corner with a faster car on your outside that needs to turn in to the corner, and expect them to disappear...
Plus looking at the replay of the incident, Shwartzman actually starts moving from the center of the track to his right (towards Schumacher) which made matters worse.
One can certainly debate the extent of the responsibility on each driver, but to say it was 100% on one driver is quite a stretch. Racing incident was the right call by the stewards in this case, and I'm thinking the professionals have a bit more data and expertise to work with than all the armchair forum stewards.

It wouldn't be the first time stewards made a weird decision.
