If a halo is a deal breaker for you following motorsports, you are so missing the point.

IndyCar isn't going to do the halo, they're still looking towards the shield. They're not panicking and rushing some half baked idea in like FIA is.

It's still a single-seater series.

You must understand that halo is only the last straw. In fact, many F1 fans share this notion. In Autosport forum over 1/5 say they will stop watching F1 even though the poll has no option "not solely because of halo".

Besides, who are you to decide for what reasons people should follow motorsports or quit doing so? There are countless reasons, of which many may sound superficial for you and me.
Most of the people I know that have watched F1 only did so due to Häkkinen or Räikkönen and because the coverage was free. When F1 went behind paywall in 2007, nearly all of them quit. For them, the price was the last straw. For some the last straw could be favorite driver losing the seat, no race in India, engine noises, DRS, boring races, other hobbies, or lack of free time.

Mind you that I've probably never been that big fan of general motorsports as you. Only since 2005 I've occasionally watched other categories than F1, mainly for the drama and crashes. That's why giving up F1 equals to giving up motorsports for me.

AS much as i complain ill still watch, i complained about V6 motors in 2014.
Then they put stepped noses 2012, cock noses 2014 - i still watched... but didnt go to a gp since 2013.
Then halo will come and ill still watch.
Why? probably cuz im a die hard f1 fan, watching every race since 1994 live, and cant help it. Ill complain and complain but in the end ill still watch from 1st to last lap, sorry

If the halo could be painted "away", an optical illusion so you would hardly notice it, would you still stop watching?

Logically, no. But as stated, there are a plethora of reasons why one could stop watching regardless of halo. Without reliable acestreams I wouldn't have watched F1 this season either.
Conversely, there are reasons for following F1 again. If F1 would race one day at Nordschleife or let's say, oval track, that would be something to looking forward to even if the cars had halo, side pods, or whatnot.

F2 on the hand has no interesting drivers and racing is barely better compared to F1, so I really don't care for its future.

IIRC the only reason IndyCar aren't going for the halo is that the visibility would be too obscured on ovals. I've not read any other reason. It has been years in development; the main reason it appears 'rushed' and 'half baked' is that they didn't bother explaining any of the logic or research behind it until a few weeks ago.

Does anyone know a good stream? I'm not trusting CMore Max / MTV3 as they have not updated their schedule...

It's going to be a standing start after wasting laps behind the SC.

Laps don't count, that's good.

Fuel might end up an issue?
