Nojiri wins ahead of Hirakawa and Oyu.

Miyata came to finish 4th after dropping to the rear due to Ohta stalling on the grid ahead of him and he leads the championship by 8 pts from Lawson heading into the double-header finale at Suzuka. Nojiri is 10 points back so also in the fight.

Well, Nojiri squeezed Lawson wide and might get a penalty for that as Lawson had no grip on the kerbs and spun into the pack.

Yuhi Sekiguchi also ended upside down in the melee.

There's been no angle that reveals if Yuhi flipped back onto his wheels or did more flips in the grass or anything, frustrating :8:

I watched the live coverage. Sekiguchi's car was left resting upside down (since if he ended right way up the marshals wouldn't flip it back on the roof, right? :p ).

Sasahara should have backed off tbh. Otsu had passed him.

Btw, the gearbox of Sasahara's car has been ripped off and lies on top of the tire wall on the right.

Looks like race won't be resumed as cars are wheeled back to the pits. Half-points awarded?

Fucking hell. The cockpit ended up down the hill, behind the barriers at Degner 1.

Sasahara only has a concussion.

Otsu won't start because his car won't be fixed in time apparently.

Ok, now that's insane. When I first saw that clips from you I thought that both ended in the barriers at 130R. There's even some onboard from drivers needed to react and change their lines after Dunlop / T7 corner due to debris and fluids on the racing line

You wait all championship for 2 cars to flip in one big accident, then 2 races in a row, it happens :8:

Yeah, I had no idea Sasahara's car went that far, thank goodness that isn't a spectator area. I think a re-design of the barriers is in order, maybe two layers of fencing?

Yeah, thank god there are no grandstands there. The catchfence clearly didn't do its job. It's not even a freak accident, just two cars colliding together. We have seen it happen at Blanchimont, but never with those consequences. I think the fact the car was split in half somehow ricocheted the cockpit even higher.
