Juri Vips will drive the ex-Ticktum\O'Ward car for the final round next weekend.

Lots of speculation that this means that Red Bull are about to swing the axe on O'Ward, and they might, but there are other plausible explanations. It could be that Red Bull simply want Pato to drive something else a little closer to home next Friday morning.

EDIT: In this case Occam's Razor does apply. Red Bull have chosen to let him go. Looks like Auer and Vips as their two drivers in this series next year.

The one Red Bull needs to axe is Helmut Marko.

While Marko is known to be harsh at times, Pato leaving was more mutual as the FIA took away a chunk of his super license points from Indy Lights over the low car count. Marko liked having Pato in the program but without license points it wasn't going to work out as the plan was fast track to F1. Instead of making him wait another month, he let him go early knowing McLaren was super interested for the IndyCar ride

Both were blindsided by the FIA, but Pato needed something to keep his name out there

Just sucks that RB corporate has no interest in sponsoring anything Stateside for four wheels (outside of RallyX, the off road trucks and drifting) after their last outing in stock cars and CCWS/IRL
