I just can't believe it. I'm in a state of shock.

He was there in Victory Lane in May and now he's gone, chasing that dream prize money from the back of the grid...that's how tragic life can be.

Rest in Peace Dan.

In the official statement, was there anything said about the condition of the other hurt drivers?

Wow that's just plainly bad headline journalism.

Guys, please don't post anything during the 5 lap tribute.

It is less what we can do.

Hope you'll support me.

His was the second car to get Airborn. And that shot from Turn 2 if you followed his car you saw he went cockpit first into the catch fence right into one of the Support Poles. So so fucken sad :( :( :(

Legard is on BBC news talking about the crash. Didn't realise he knew anything about IRL.

Seriously, this is so god damn class less. No need in showing close ups of grieving people.

Could someone find me an email address for ABC/ESPN sport division.

Is there a story or reason behind doing "5" laps, does 5 have any significance ?

Absolutely cannot believe what I saw this evening.

Never witnessed a fatal crash live...and with regards to violence that was about the worst ever.

Just truly and utterly gutted...

I'm not sure if this is coincidence, but just earlier this week I was thinking about Renna dying and then Dana, and that it had been a while thankfully...

It obviously sounds cruel in a situation like this but at least it gives a clear view what happend. And it just shows how severe it was and that poor Dan had no chance at all.

It is a very sad day for the motorsport world. We have just lost the 2011 Indy 500 winner and a great man. I just can't belive it. So sad.
