Fantastic race!!! Lots of 2 wide, 3 wide, close calls, pack racing! Enjoyed it a lot. Mario Morais race was absolutely awesome, he only didnt win because KV racing don't have enough equipment to challenge Penske and Chip Ganassi, so he was no doubt the best of the rest, proving that If he has a good car in hands, he can deliver!

And another incredible lack of luck for Castroneves, he was aparently with a good setup and first had EJ Viso who was one or two laps down trying to f* Helio's race, and he did what he wanted, undermined Helio's competitivy...later he was betrayed by equipment for the SECOND consecutive weekend!!!! This is TOO MUCH Penske!!!

Now if the IRL hadn't fucked itself on the Versus contract, and their aero rules, and...well, nevermind.

Briscoe has the run out of the corner, kind of expectable that he was able to win the race, on the IMS radio they say Dixon still has 7 boosts left, wonder what happened there.

The race is again great to watch on race control, on the main feed they only had one camera on top of the grandstand but that camera didn't follow the leader all the way through. When the leading cars were running single file early on, the camera was focusing on the battles in the second group which was quite good. And there were constant battles throughout the whole field, even when everybody was running sort of single file at one point, Sarah Fisher was having a nice little battle with Mike Conway, and it was caught on one of the 4 onboard feeds.

Fuck, I missed a lot :C

IRL needs to divorce itself from Versus. NOW.

Tell that to CCF

That's not the problem. Versus gives the series ample time. The problem is that Versus isn't as well known in the sports world as ESPN is. Had Versus been started in about 1985, we might not be having this conversation. That being said, ESPN's treatment of the series last year was deplorable.

Yeah, that's the only reason no one's watching the series: the availability of Versus is very few and far in-between and no one even hears of the channel.

I do agree with ESPN...they suck.

today is the last day of Versus' contract with DirecTV, so it might just be getting even less widely available.

yea well some people are never going to be happy regardless of what happens.

Thankfully we didn't have as many adverts as Versus, but I could tell when they went to adds and it was literally every 5 minutes

Thanks RTL7 for not showing this one :x just short highlights tonight. They show the boring ovals like milwaukee semi-live, but not this one.

How the shit did they not have some sort of epic pileup, I don't know. Tense stuff, watched the 9am rerun Sky had this morning (because they chose the most exciting race of the year to not show completely live), and even tape delayed it was 8O 8O 8O.

Yay Briscoe.

The last 10 laps and when 2 lap cars running side by side got ran down by the leaders and Helio passed everyone 3 wide on the outside was about the extent of the excitement. This wasn't so great in person, infact until Mutoh wrecked it was your typical 4 car breakaway.

Yeah but the ratings were far better. Even the ABC races were better because they would come on after events like the British Open. Coverage may be better but if very few even watch, then what is the point. CART had great coverage on SpeedTV but nobody watched.
