I think they were racing quite early in the morning on the WEC weekend....

It was at an MSVR raceday, so F4 was pretty much the highest profile series at the event.

I see that Channel 4 and Motors have a British GT programme, but does anyone show F4 highlights? Looked like quite a big shunt at the start of the first race today. From my viewpoint I saw a wheel and polystyrene boards go flying. :p

Decent sized grid, and the racing was ok. The ex Ginetta Junior drivers looked strong.

I think it's on ITV4.

I'd prefer that to Palmer's F4 or Berger throwing his own series into the crowded market tbh.

Someone should do something to save FFord....

Why should someone save FFord when it's trying to kill itself. I have a novel idea for the FIA. Take a look at the cars and bang out a Formula in which all of them can compete in, and that more entities can as well.

Just watching the Silverstone highlights on ITV4, racing's pretty nuts. There was a flip too.

2014 season started at Silverstone supporting WEC. Highlights are worth watching if you can, especially race 2 which had plenty of action with slick shod cars on a wet track!

I presume this is unrelated to the FIA British Formula 4 championship due to start next year? Not sure how 2 championships like that can survive side by side though?

A team registered in Malta is actually entering the FIA Italian Formula 4 racing and I'm really REALLY liking what I'm seeing so far. I'm somewhat involved with helping them out, and a local friend of mine is working his socks off to get a seat with them, so it should be fun. The idea makes sense. 100k for a 21 races in open wheel Motorsport is not bad at all. The jump from karting to F3 is pretty insane. There would have been NO other way for a country like ours to actually be able to give it's local talent the opportunity to make the jump.

The British FIA F4 championship will replace the British FFord championship. If Berger puts enough money behind it it should drain the BRDC F4's talent pool fairly quickly and kill it off.

So does that mean we're going to have an FIA sanctioned series on the TOCA bill? Doesn't sound great to me. Can someone who knows more please reassure me that we're not going to end up with acres of tarmac run off up and down the country?

Of course, there's no guarantee it would remain on the ToCA bill...

As far as I know Berger was just the person in charge by the FIA to come up with idea, not really putting any money in it. The Italian championship seems to be done pretty well, with a sizeable amount of entries so far and all races being broadcast live on national tv and all that.
