if I am not mistaken we have 24 places set, and today we will fill position 25 till 33. Drivers yet to qualify: Silvestro, Conway, Bourdais, Legge, Servia, Cunningham, Carpenter, Alesi and Clauson.

That's 9 drivers, 33 total. Am I wrong or do we need 34 drivers to be called a bump day?

I wonder if anyone will bring in an extra car to bump the Lotus farces.

Are they going to allow Lotus to race? I assume there is a target speed they have to hit to be allowed? Because right now it's embarrassing.

They've said there's no minimum in qualy but there is during the race. If they don't get bumped they'll start and park.

There going to allow Lotus cars to qualify & start the race, However if there speed drops below 105% of the leaders for more than a few laps during the race they will be black flagged & parked.

They indicated during the qualifying broadcast yesterday that they may allow the Lotus cars to retain the 50hp qualifying boost for the race.

Since Dixon and Dario are out there running 214-215.. My question is are all the drivers locked in allowed to go back to the less boost for more race practice all day?

If they let Lotus keep the boost and Dario is running on race boost.. Simona would actually be right on pace.

I'm still wondering what happened to Pippa Mann. She said there was a car and an engine available, yet she claimed yesterday she wasn't going to attempt to qualify for the race. Jay Howard said the same today, but that can be understood, considering how impossible it was for Michael Shank to get an engine deal.

Ed Carpenter has a second car, but they didn't wanted to enter it in the first place, and after Ed's crash yesterday, that's a no-no I'd think.

I read about Foyt, Dale Coyne and Sam Schmidt all being able to field an extra car, but I'd think it's more of a stretch, considering none of this teams have shown great speeds throughout the month. But, they'd need a half decent car to bump Lotus out of the field and get in the race.

I don't think there will be any bumping today.

It was mentioned at the end of SPEED's article on qualifying that due to the blown engines and engine damaging crashes, Honda and Chevy are not going to supply anyone else with anything extra.

And who'd want a Lotus engine?

I have a weird feeling that Simona will crash today because they will try some extreme setup to gain some speed

But they have no need to since they're already locked in. they either start 32nd or 33rd. What's the difference?

Looking at Simona's speed, compared to the slowest qualifier thus far, depress me deeply.
