Nice looking beast.

Though I've decided that the car would look much nicer without the flymo front wing :p

Do Demon Tweeks still pay out if you get their logo some publicity (something like a small amount for something like Autosport, larger amount for national press/TV ) :?

Still, best of luck!

Yup, that's pretty much the only reason I'm "advertising" their company on my car.

How much do they pay for publicity on tbk-light? :p

Paul did a 1 minute 40.6 second lap and was 5th out of the 9 FF2000 entrants in the race. Not bad going IMO. I'm sure someone in the paddock should be able to help him out. There are always good samaritans in these club paddocks.

According to his Facebook he's a DNS :(

Must suck to get so completely geared up for a weekend then not even get on the grid.

Sorry to hear it mate, heart goes out to you, etc :(

Qualified 18th out of 31 cars, 5th in the FF2000 class out of 9 with a lap time of 1 minute 40.69 seconds. I outqualified seven more powerful Formula 3 cars. :)

I didn't race because of mechanical issues, one of which we would have found out if I'd tested the car again.

Nice to see that a TBK member is a real driver :)

I had a question for you : Is your car easy to drive and "fast enough" to enjoy it ?

I personally think it's quite easy to drive, but another person might find it really difficult to drive.

When I first drove it in testing at Brands Hatch, it didn't feel as fast as I thought it would. Even heading towards Hawthorn's Bend at nearly 115mph didn't feel very fast. I could comfortably deal with something much faster.

I had an onboard camera on my car during qualifying and for the first four laps, I felt like I was driving like an amateur, but then I got my head down, gave myself some space and went 4 seconds faster than I'd been driving for the previous few laps...This was when I was doing 1:45s and 1:46s, stuck behind a slower car and still trying to learn the track, hence was taking Westfield, Sheene and Stirling's VERY carefully:

Thanks for the answer and obviously for the Onboard video !! I love that. :)

I have another question : how do you "pay your seat" ? Do you have some sponsorship ?

I ask you these question because I have always wanted to be a racedriver but I did not have the support from my parents. The Auto Sport Academy would have been a good experience for me but ... now I'm too old :(
Thus I'm pretty happy to speak with a driver here on TBK :)

I save up the money I get from my job and don't spend it on anything else. Look at it this way........I could spend the money on upgrading my computer (single core is so last century :p ), I could go out for pizzas with my friends, or see movies, go out drinking....but instead I save it all so I can drive round a race track for 35 minutes a month...

I can get away with spending maybe £300 a race meeting...don't tell me you couldn't save up that small amount each month? I would never be able to pay for professional racing. I can only hope I turn out to be pretty good and get noticed...but that's just a dream.

You need support from a mechanic, rather than support from your parents.

So true ... Unfortunatly I have neither the support of a mechanic nor my parents' one
