I'd like to see Oliver Jarvis and Maro Engel get a go, and Carroll deserves another go too. And Asmer deserves another year, surely. You don't become BMW tester with no talent (see Kubica, Vettel, Glock etc)

It's a shame that Jarvis didn't go to GP2, very similar case to di Resta. Asmer I'm not too sure about, he was great in F3 but he really sucked badly this year. He clearly didn't "click" with the GP2 car.

I wouldn't call the Piquet Sports drivers old, just...well, Zuber's inept and Maldonado crashes a bit too often. I could really see Pastor making a title challenge if he gets his shit together next year.

The only people from the junior leagues who might do anything are the title winners- the Hulk and Alguersuari (that's going to be a pain in the arse for article writers).

Also do not forget that F2 will be sucking at the same pool of drivers.

GP3 = IFM, it is a step-up to GP2, D'ambrosio went to GP2 afther winning the IFM, now van der Drift is going to do the same thing (he is testing at Paul Ricard Friday)

and WsbR, the difficulty level is good enough, but no real talents are racing in it, that makes it a bit unapealing to compete in I think

But if you can't get a seat in GP2, that's the way you're going to have to go

Maldonado is quick enough, yes. He just needs to calm down.

Van Der Drift is another guy that should do GP2. A couple more drivers and I'm out of seats in this little personal fantasy GP2 series.

I would love to see D'ambrosio to a top team next season.

Not because I think he is a great driver, but because I wanna see if he is a great driver :)

I can't see many top GP2 drivers chancing F2 anyway. It'll be a series for the GP2 rejects for at least a year or 2 like IFM/GP3

Personally, I would guess at least 60% of this year's GP2 field would consider a switch to F2, simply because of the far lower budget they'd have to find.

I would not be surprised if we struggled to get 26 cars next year.

Yeah. Drivers with enough budget to do GP2 will probably stay there without doubting.

GP2 in proven to be the best way to get into F1, and most of the graduated drivers have prooved that they have what it takes to be good in F1, so the way F1 teams look into F2 as a series that may or may not provide them of good drivers will decide the series' future.

I thought the same thing. But he seems confident with Durango or unless he had no other options...?

He just seems to not be... "there". It took him three years to win the BF3 title (his fourth season in an F3 series, his other was in Japan).

I definitely want Philippe in GP2. He's still only 22 years old. He's younger than Grosjean. I don't think he'd win the title or anything, but he's definitely talented.

I reckon he can win it. As long he is with Isport or ART he can.

Going by the talent levels over the last couple of years, Nelson can win it. He's good enough. Pretty much anyone can win it. Except maybe Fairuz Fauzy and any of the BCN drivers

I reckon that teams were much more equal this year. BCN was out of depth but other teams should have some chances. DPR was not that good either but I think they are also struggling to get good drivers. FMS had that problem too this year but they won several races in 2006 and 2007. Asmer is not a bad driver but it's very difficult to get into series mid-season and get good results. No one has really done it so far (and I mean completely new drivers, di Grassi-Carroll-Pantano treble has done well in last three years after missing some races but all those had GP2 background already)

Other 10 teams won a race this year. OK, some of them only sprint but still. 2005 had nine, 2006 only six, 2007 ten as well.
