He really needs to do some one-off Euroseries races or something.

Yeah but the way things are going in British F3, he's going to be super-hyped by the end of the year, that opens many opportunities in a drivers career.

It was Gabriel Dias who rolled in the 1st lap of race 2.

Looks like the exit of the first corner...

So first corner, midfield runner all bunched together, there's a high chance I guess of the TV cameras catching this.
*Jinxes it* :p

What is it with Oulton and flying/rolling f3 cars anyway?
They probably should do something about all the bumps there...

As I explained earlier in the thread, success of this magnitude could lead to him getting Pizzonia'd and he could end up being reduced to national touring\stock cars by the age of 28.

Going to the Euroseries this year and getting an idea of the level of competiton will make it much easier to adapt next year when he moves up and will prevent him from being lost in the shuffle.

about the jumpstart, Laurens Vanthoor today did exactly the same (starting when lights went on instead of off), he was starting from p1 in the German F3 championship

He did a 1 off euroseries race last year which he got 6th, not bad for a debut in a sg formula car. I believe he beat his team-mates also. He also did the f3 masters in zolder, which didn't go well at all for him. But for sure this year he should roll the british f3 series without a doubt, and he might end up doing 1 or 2 euroseries races, and for sure he will do the f3 masters and probably also macau. He keeps this up with all the winning he might even find himself getting a red bull or toro rosso test drive. Things are looking good for him.

problem with British F3 drivers doing the masters is that they aren't familiar with the kumho tyres and use an older chassis, this rules out a good race for them

Am I the only person who'd never heard of Cooper tyres up to this sponsorship of British F3?

Haven't seen this series in years since it stopped coming to Knockhill but it's on the supprt at the Silverstone FIA GT - shame it seems to be a weak field...

The roll of Gabriel Dias after hitting Wayne Boyd can be seen here at 1:32 -

I was planning to be filming there on the outside of the circuit there aswell, but opted to watch the start instead :(

A few crappy pics I took of the wreckage:

Round 3 and 4 was at silverstone last weekend. We had Ranger van der Zande join Hitech for the rest of the season apparently. Qualifying was taken out by chilton, as championship leader Daniel Ricciardo made a rare mistake in qualifying 1 and spun off into the gravel, he ended up 11th. But in qualifying 2 he just missed pole by 0.015.

Race 1 was taken out by Ranger van der Zande just 0.5 infront of Chilton, and Ricciardo from 11th made it up to 5th.

Race 2 was taken by Daniel Ricciardo, who passed chilton for the lead with 3 laps to go, which apparently he got a run on the outside of chilton through maggots/becketts, and outbraked him for stowe corner. The next lap Riki Christodoulou made a pass of Chilton also for 2nd, which left Chilton 3rd. Ranger van der Zande was in 3rd for most of the race until he lost power in his mercedes engine, he finished 12th.

Daniel Ricciardo has now won 3 races from 4, and now leads the championship by 28 points.

Was at Silverstone for the GTs and have to say I'd been looking forward to seeing the F3s on the GP track as I'd only previously seen them a few times at Knockhill and the track never really suited them. Sadly they turned out to be two of the dullest processions I've ever seen - I'll catch the TV coverage to see if I missed all the action elsewhere but there was a lot of grumbling in the crowd around me at how boring the races were...

I found that too. They would have been suited to using one of the shorter layouts, the length of the track spread them out too much.
