why is that so funny? Because his last name translates into Bread in English?

I know that, Mr. Holmes.

It was funny because I heard him mentioned in some racing magazine I think 2-3 years ago, and I kinda remembered the name and wondered what happened to him.

It was funny because it was pure coincidence.

I don't think there is an English word for baguette. Pain is the french word for bread.

Wow, even though it sucks they lost MOTOGP (can't see the 125 and 250 live now) its cool they keep motorsport in their program.

If it's a direct replacement for MotoGP, guess it'd be live. Hopefully the supports would be live too, they're usually better than the World Series...

And it's certainly better in person.

Wouldn't be surprised if Euroshite messed around with the schedules and we end up missing races though.

World Series to get Eurosport TV deal in 2009

According to the latest rumors heard by Italiaracing.net, the World Series Renault is set to return to live air in 2009 on satellite channel Eurosport, after the loss of MotoGP races. The series, already counting on several national partnership, will count on aserious international coverage.

I think that there will be some mix with Worlds Series Race Support and WTCC race support because the series are clashing in the calendar.

I think that the loss of Moto GP coverage will make an empty time on the TV schedule.

I imagine this schedule:

Saturday:

Eurosport

12:00:Formula Master 1st Race
13:00:World Series By Renault FR 3.5 delayed qualifying
14:25: FR3.5 first race

Eurosport 2:

14:15:Seat Cupra Cup
15:00:WTCC qualifying
15:55:Megane Trophy

Saturday:

Eurosport:
11:00: Formula Renault Eurocup 2.0 (race 1 delayed+race 2 live)
12:00:WTCC race 1
13:00:World Series By Renault FR 3.5 race 2
14:00:Internationnal formula master race 2
15:00:WTCC race 2

Eurosport2:

13:00:Seat Cupra cup
14:25:Megane Trophy

It's a dream :(

There is an article about Draco on last weeks portuguese Autosport. Good to know that family and passion can still run a team as good as any factory team.

Quote:
autosport.com - Double Formula Renault 3.5 teams' champions Tech 1 Racing have confirmed French driver Charles Pic's continued presence in the team for 2009.

The 18-year-old's maiden season in the category last year provided two wins at Monaco and at Le Mans, and Pic ended the year as the highest-placed rookie in the classification.

The success helped pave the way to Pic's appearance at the Renault R29 F1 launch at Portimao on Monday, where his initiation into the Renault Driver Development Programme was announced.

Tech 1 team boss, former F3 racer Simon Abadie, is looking for Pic to return the drivers' title to the team's home in Toulouse, after tasting success with Portuguese Alvaro Parente in 2007.

"It's a great opportunity for him and he knows he has to deliver," said Abadie. "I hope that what we put in place with Charles last year will pay off this season. He knows the little things he's got to improve and where he still has to progress. The drivers' title is well within his grasp, it's our job to give him the best car possible."

Tech 1 have yet to select a driver for their second car, and an announcement is not expected for several weeks.

Abadie continued: "We're looking at the best options. We hope to enter a driver alongside Charles who's as quick and as good at scoring points for the team. To rack up good results in the Formula Renault 3.5 Series, more than in any other (category), you have to be consistent, capable of finding the right set-up straight away for each circuit and not make mistakes.

"Again this year there will be another very evenly matched field, and several drivers will be battling for the title. As we saw in 2008 it's crucial to get off to a good start: you have be 100% right from the word go."

The first collective test session will take place at Jerez on March 10th-11th and the season will kick off in Barcelona on April 18-19th.

possible champion I'd say
