I feel sorry for Jourdain, he's better than that.

Still, a great job from Legge..

Its a shame they couldn't get him another car.

Kat did a good job getting upto speed, However Buddy Lazier's done an awesome job considering he's never driven the DW12 & hasn't driven an Indycar in 4 years.

Shame we won't see any bumping though.

Feel so terrible for Jourdain, he looked absolutley destroyed knowing he wasn't going to make the race. The car just didn't have the speed in it.

Well, my predictions were typically crap, but I have to say, Pole Day really was exciting. Too bad NBCSN didn't stay with it, but at least they came back at 7 with the final runs. Good job Ed. Hometown boy does right and puts it on the pole. Can't argue with that. He might be a dick, he might be a fool, but Indy doesn't usually give away handouts so the guy earned it.

Andretti's cars looking STOUT for the 500. I second the earlier post, I think we're in for a classic 500.

If someone yesterday had told me that Pole Qualifying was going to be WAY more exciting than the Cup All Star race I never would've believed them.

Well, the time has come. Chin's heading up to Indy with my family, and he got to NOLA this morning. It's been a fun time so far.

3 of my fellow countrymen are running this year, but I'll root for Kanaan the most as always. :p Hoping for a nice, safe race. And a long overdue Kanaan win ! :flag:

I don't think anyone would mind if Kanaan would win. His had his share of tough times at the Indy so far.

From Tony Kanaan

Quote:
The next day I put a lot of lead into her hubcaps – one in the right rear and one in the left front. She had a rough ride home! The last one is, actually we're in a hunt to find a boyfriend for her. So any guy out there reading this who wants to "try out," message your info here. Résumés are actually more important than pix because we need to know more than just what you look like. What you do for a living, if you're financially stable. And I'm going to pick the guy and hopefully that lucky guy will have a week to get ready for his dream date because we'll bring him to the Indy 500 banquet to meet Simona and introduce her to her future boyfriend. She has no choice on that. It's Kanaan-Match.com.

As a single, I could write there, but that "financially stable" doesn't go well with me, as I don't have a job at the moment.

But to be honest, I would rather have a girlfriend who is not that famous. I hope all the best for her in all the races though, it would be nice to see her winning a race.

http://espnmediazone.com/us/press-relea ... -telecast/

Quote:
Marty Reid will call the race with analysis by former IndyCar driver Scott Goodyear and 1998 Indy 500 winner Eddie Cheever. ESPN SportsCenter anchor Lindsay Czarniak will host the telecast while pit reporters will be Rick DeBruhl, Jamie Little, Dr. Jerry Punch and Vince Welch.

Quote:
ESPN’s production of the Indianapolis 500 on ABC will utilize 84 cameras to televise the premier event of the IZOD IndyCar Series, including three onboard cameras per car in 12 of the 33 cars competing in the race.
Carpenter will be one of the 12 drivers carrying onboard cameras as will defending race winner Dario Franchitti and defending IndyCar Series champion Ryan Hunter-Reay. Others will be Charlie Kimball, JR Hildebrand, James Hinchcliffe, Townsend Bell, Will Power, Helio Castroneves, Marco Andretti, Graham Rahal and Tristan Vautier

Among the cameras will be the newly-enhanced “Batcam,” a camera that provides unique and dramatic views running on a cable over pit road and the frontstretch and has been utilized by ESPN at Indy for several years. But with new technology, “Batcam” can now move faster than ever, reaching speeds of 95 mph.

Views and replays also will be enhanced with expanded usage of four Ultra Hi Motion cameras. As was the case last year when the cameras were used for the first time, they will be located in the short chutes at each end of the 2.5-mile track as well as at the fourth turn exit, with a fourth robotic camera added this year to provide a low shot entering the first turn. The cameras can shoot at speeds of up to 1,200 frames per second. ESPN also will have Super Slo Motion cameras positioned in each turn.
