I love this track!

I only wish the race didn't start so late on Sunday... it's cutting into my dinner time :yuk:

Practice 2 is on now. Milka spins, Baguette tapped the wall. Nothing else really, so far.

Only Duno on track anyway.

Is she naked? Cuz if so, then we know our buddy got 1/3 of the requests done.

Cough cough ;)

It was funny, Milka ran like 9 or 10 laps by herself, then as soon as Sato gets back into circuit mode, we go full yellow...with 3 cars on track...it was a farce.

I have shots of Sato...for everyone...and less happy shots of him crossing the field...just have to file first!

Here are a few pics from today. They have right fucked the over the wall pass rules, so I dont have a whole lot from pit lane. ALSO...no speed shot of Sato yet...but there are two in there.

Image
First thing today...Sato loses control through the technical back section of the track and goes for a slippery slide through the VERY WET grass.
Image
I want to get all the support series stuff out of the way, unless folks want to see some more. Here is the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series guys hitting the curbs HARD in first practice.
Image
Canadian driver James Hinchcliffe will win Sunday...mark my words.
Image
Pippa Mann is cute! I took a couple shots of her getting ready for practice, and liked this one from the track...
Image
The ladies racing were the primary source of issues on track...here is Simona heading through turn 13 with a big Budweiser banner stuck to her front wing...still dont know what happened.
Image
Instead of the same shot I have of Danica in the DANICAMANIA presser early Friday, here is a shot of Danica...super tight on the car. 400mm for the win :D
Image
I wanted to bring a fisheye lens this weekend, get that 10mm sigma deal but no one I knew had one. Anyways, one of the NASCAR shooters is toting some impressive lens package...and straight up offered for me to use his for a bit. Its the 15mm Canon one, on a crop lens, so some of the fisheye is gone, but if you look close, you see the effect. Will Power rockets through turn 13.
Image
And to hold you all over for a SICK PAN that will be awe inspriring of the sexiest car on the track, here is Sato during second practice. He wasn't on track much, or I didnt see him. Anyways enjoy!

That first Sato one splashing through the grass certainly would be a nice wallpaper if it were higher resolution...

Qualifying should be interesting this afternoon... all 6 polesitters this year are in the same group!! Should make for a very mixed up grid anyways!!

Qualifying should result in a mixed up grid. On Group 1 are the fastest rides, with 8 of those being in the Top 12 in practice.

Group 1:

#2 Raphael Matos
#3 Helio Castroneves
#5 Takuma Sato
#6 Ryan Briscoe
#7 Danica Patrick
#10 Dario Franchitti
#12 Will Power
#14 Vitor Meira
#15 Paul Tracy
#18 Milka Duno
#22 Justin Wilson
#34 Mario Romancini
#77 Alex Tagliani

Group 2:

#4 Dan Wheldon
#8 EJ Viso
#9 Scott Dixon
#11 Tony Kanaan
#19 Alex Lloyd
#24 Tomas Scheckter
#26 Marco Andretti
#32 Mario Moraes
#36 Bertrand Baguette
#37 Ryan Hunter-Reay
#78 Simona de Silvestro
#06 Hideki Mutoh

Glad to see the race is on TSN this year instead of TSN2. I'll actually be able to watch it on TV instead of on a stream. It was stupid last year when as a Canadian, I had to watch a Versus stream from the US.

Lots of little incidents so far in this session. Sato spins and stalls, Wilson spins in turn 1 and stops only just before hitting the tyres, Meira with a high speed spin through turn 14, Wheldon spins across the grass, Viso spins and hits the tyres but minor damage.

And now both Tracy and Tagliani have spun in turn 1, seconds apart! What is going on this morning lol..

I was nowhere near ANY of those...I saw SATO sitting in the grass near the end, and saw Wilson silde through 1, but otherwise normal morning for me :(

I did shoot a video using a fisheye lens for your enjoyment, its in 1080 tho so give me a few days to get it up!
