They're not a charity, the last thing you want to do is start scaring off chassis makers

Well the teams should be pissed off, because the cost cap of the chassis wasn't met.

The chassis is expensive, but I think the teams can cope with that. It's the spare parts the more expensive and teams are not allowed to build their own, like some did with the previous car.

The chassis was supposed to be 250K USD, but is closer to 450K than 250K

But the chassis isn't going to change for years to come. Only the aero of the car (which the wankers are holding back).

Wheldon won his last Indy 500 with a car out of 2003, and still they are whining about an investment they have to make for 1 time... 250.000, come one even Formula Renault 2.0 cars are higher priced than that.

In this week's Autosport, Randy's explanation for the lack of Road America and Michigan is his desire for the races already present in those areas (Milwaukee and Belle Isle) to build up a steady block of support and paying customers; the presence of more races may split the fanbase.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

I can certainly see the reasoning.

Belle Isle got in first while ISC dragged their feet.

Funny how there could be both a Milwaukee race and a Road America race on the calender for decades and they never really had a problem.
In fact from what I read before, they fed off each other and built up Indycar's exposure in that area rather than competed with one another....

NASCAR isn't shy about having 2 races a year in the same market too, hell, most of the time on the same tracks!

Try harder, Randy.

If that's exactly the case I think you should email Randy to enlighten him.

IndyCar was big when they held two races in the same market. NASCAR is also the top dog of motorsports in the country. Besides NASCAR very few other mototsports tend to double dip in the same region.

Dissapointed about Michigan & Road America, However it sounds like Pocono's a serious possibility :)

Indycar's missing a serious presence around here. Baltimore is a good start but it's more Mid-Atlantic than it is Northeast. The fans that came to Nazareth were very much an Indycar crowd and there's been a pretty big void left behind, Pocono would be a good way to work back into the
Northeast as something unique and very much a spectacle.

Nope. I'm pretty sure that's the old ISI NASCAR Game Watkins Glen conversion.
