Well, everyone seems to say that 1995 was the last "great season of AOWR". 11 Road/Street Courses and 6 Ovals.

Of course, one can argue about the quality of races the Dallara's provide in road courses.


I'd argue they're better road course machines than they are ovals now (not compared to other road course series but comparitvely to the amount of action you get on RC's vs ovals)

We all know the series mandates an excess of downforce to try to ensure side by side restrictor plate oval racing, but the teams have long ago worked out how to get around that and therefore the races aren't full of the pack racing they once were.

Hopefully that made the IRL realise the new car should go in a different direction, but you never know.

Anyway, that's quite a jump from sponsoring the green flag of all things. In fact, I absolutely hate those green flag, starting grid or mid-race recap sponsors, they should sponsor the yellow flag too to complete the set!!! :yuk:
