Looks like two cars have been hit by flying wheels in the process.

Reminds me of Hungary 2007 GP2 pileup where also debries from Fillippi's car caused additional retirements

i want some of whatever this sky commentator is on

I think it was at the end of one of the Silverstone processions where he said something like: "AND I'M ABOUT TO LOSE MY VOICE IN ALL THE EXCITEMENT!" :slaphead:

he's horrible

As I've said in the GP2 thread:
pimmy wrote:
Completely unrelated to the racing itself, but Alex Jakes (the commentator on Sky F1) needs to go. One of the worst I've ever heard. For a start, he can't even talk properly, he constantly mispronounces the names of teams and drivers and sometimes uses completely the wrong words in his sentences. My biggest gripe with him though is his completely incorrect use of the phrase "the sport". On numerous occasions he refers to somebody achieving their first win/podium in a series as their first in "the sport". It was particularly ridiculous in Austria when he talked about Matsushita dominating Japanese F3 and in the very next sentence saying that he'd scored his first podium in "the sport". The sport, of course, is motor racing, of which GP2 is just a series.

The man has no understanding of words and needs to be sacked. Even Carlton Kirby would be better.

We had another couple of instances of "the sport" at the weekend, numerous references to "5-place penalties" (SECONDS, you dipshit), and "El Rouge". How this man is employed in any capacity with any company is beyond me.

I thought Ben Constanduros did a good job with co-commentary, I wouldn't mind him being given the main role full-time for both GP2 & GP3. I'm sure he'd probably enjoy it more than being a pit reporter for WTCC.
