Nobody expects to go to a race and face the risk of being killed. Perhaps fans should be more mindful of the potential consequences. I can only speak for myself, but even as a fan in stands, everytime I walk through the gate I know there's a chance I won't walk out. Racing is dangerous for everyone...

You know what grinds my gears the most about DJ in the Hall of Fame right now? There's another NASCAR champion/Daytona 500 winner who transitioned into a successful career in commentary at ESPN, not to mention being one of the nicest and most respected people to ever grace the track and our TV scree...
