I lived about 45 minutes away from the race track for over 5 years and I can tell you, the smog and pollution is fucking horrendous. Even a "clear sunny day" is a blueish grey. It is depressing as shit. Also nobody in Shanghai gives a shit about the race. I never once saw any kind of prom...
