Seems we're all caught up in the "put lipstick on a pig" theme this weekend.

The other four non-throwbacks should team together and run JD Stacy schemes. It's not right to have just one Stacy car in the field.

Love this whole throwback weekend. Yeah we can get caught up in rules and racing bullshit but sometimes, you just need to have fuckin fun.

It's supposed to be fun by nature. By doing these little gimmicky things (interesting as they are) once a year, it distracts from the disaster that is the whole.

I feel like the Xfinity race should be at night and the Cup race should be during the day, not the other way around. Iono, just my 2 cents.

They always loved to cook under the sun on Labor Day at Darlington.. now that the race is back on freakin Labor Day after all the whining about briefly losing that tradition, they should be glad to do it again.

With the way things have gone racing-quality wise over the past few years, I'll take a small victory like a silly "throwback" weekend.

Also, that 2003 Southern 500 was friggin' TAST.

I was at that 2003 Southern 500, went there because it was going to be the last one. Hot as balls that day, but a great race and an awesome winner everyone was happy for.

Definitely an unexpected win as well - they ran well all year long and ended up in the Top 10 in points, but a win??? One of my all-time favorite, feel-good race finishes.
