June has been really wet here. No rain forecast for the next two weeks now. The long term forecasts aren't usually very accurate, so we might have a better idea in a few days.

Was on site visits today and I went through Silverstone between one in Syresham and one in Deanshanger (which will mean nothing to you).

However, I happened to follow a certain Haas team lorry into Silverstone village which turned right and obviously headed towards the track.

Another weekend to become disappointed because it will only be a few drops on the lens.

Neil Horan should do a cameo just for the sake of nostalgia.

For some reason I never liked this track. So I don't expect much of the race.

Likely to be a wet FP3. Should be a dry qual. Maybe a shower for the race.

I think it's a much better iteration than the chicane laden blight of the 90s/2000s

The new complex leading onto the wellington straight seems great for overtaking.

It'll never be the track it was in the 70s/80s, (who needs corners, we have STRAIGHTS!!!), but it's almost there.

Some people don't like this layout, but its good, adds a passing spot and a nice fast corner.

The new loop may be better from a racing standpoint but I prefer the previous layout as I think it had a better flow to it & was more fun to drive in the sim-world.

The new loop isn't necessarily bad but I'm not fond of the slow corners as they really kill the flow of the circuit, Aren't fun to drive in the sims & aren't particularly fun to watch the cars drive through.

It's kinda like the Bus Stop at Spa, The final sector at Magny-Cours, The chicanes at Monza, The 1st sequence of corners at Nurburgring & on a circuit wide scale Hockenheim. The various changes may well be better for racing & may well produce more overtaking than the previous versions but there just not as much fun to drive or watch cars going round compared to how they were before.

Murray Walker has said that he won't be attending the race this weekend & may well have attended his final GP as he's getting too frail to be doing the walking around required over a race weekend.

Go back to the really old and simple layout. GPL style. There is (or at least was) room for gigantic runoffs, so too high speeds shouldnt be an issue.
4 corners, 1 kink und 1 fast chacane is good.

The new inner loop just looks... bland. It's like any other modernized track over the world, especially with the classic white/red curbing. You wouldn't know if you're at Fuji, Turkey, or Silverstone.

There used to be a time where you could recognize Silverstone by merely glancing at a pic thanks to the blue curbs, grass, and generally the corners shape that were unique. Now it's all fast kinks in a tarmac sea, clean sweepers of decreasing corner radius, and those horrid double 90° corners. Sure, those provide opportunities at exit so they're good for racing, but it's common now, and just bland, mediocre.

And I don't know, I am still not over the S/F line change from Woodcote. It feels wrong.
