Good sized field for the ARCA race in comparison to the last few at MIS.

I think the ARCA field looks very competitive at the top between the Venturini cars, the Cunningham Cars, the #98 car and the #8 and #28 cars, among others. I believe the #8 and #28 cars are fielded by the new team co-owned by Lorin Rainier, the son of Harry Rainier.

Another aero-test. More aero-restriction, but the hole is deeper on this track....

And they're both top 5 during practice at the moment. Pretty impressive.

It's looks like the top 20 will be competitive. The rest are 10mph or more off the pace... after 13 laps the #34 car of Mike Basham is only 30mph off the pace.

Apparently the entire perimeter of the outside wall is now SAFER-lined, along wth the inside walls exiting T4/entering T1, and inside wall separating he pits and frontstretch grass.

Another track to see if the aero-improvements and softer tyres will provide better racing. We have even more aero-restriction this time around since the Coke 600, but this track is flatter and faster, making it all the more aero-dependant.

There is quite a chunk of downforce coming off again. I'm optimistic about this. Speeds could be pretty high into the corners, with a lot of time off throttle.

I wonder if we will have multiple lines as recently paved tracks normally lack that.

That's recent enough for the point he was making.

Yeah but I'd like to think after 5 years it wouldn't be quite the one groove track he was talking about. Looking at the races there last year, it looks like the time and weather have helped. I think we will definitely see multiple grooves.

Guys hitting 215 entering turn 1 right off the bat in practice.

Dropping down to 170-180 in the corners. That's still a bit high IMO but it is on fresh tires and it is a bigger delta from top speed so it's a kind of encouraging start.
