Thank god it's almost over....

Image

4 drivers remain in the Chase for the Championship:

* Jeff Gordon, looking to go out on the ultimate high-note with an elusive 5th championship in the final race of his storied career.
* Kevin Harvick, the only return visitor from last year's Chase finale (thanks in part to retarded DEGA shenanigans), going for back-to-back championships.
* Kyle Busch, going for his first championship despite missing a third of the season to injury. Why? Because NASCAR, that's why.
* Martin Truex Jr., looking to bring himself and the underdog Furniture Row Racing outfit their first championships. Furniture Row a championship team? Not what you'd expect from a team fielding washed-up Cup guys and Jerry "Who the hell is Jerry Robertson?" Robertson just a decade ago.

PLUS Xfinity and Trucks wrap up their seasons, as Chris Buescher (Xfinity) and Erik Jones (Trooks) look to take home a championship, barring a disastrous race. The NASCAR Mexico Series also has their season finale this Sunday (airs live at 2pm ET on NBC Universo).

Entry lists
Sprint Cup
Xfinity
Trucks

A retiring legend who makes it in on the back of a mediocre year

A dominant driver who (albeit because of the shitty system) had to cause a pileup to save his season

A guy who missed nearly a third of the year

A guy who had a decent but not spectacular season

Thanks NASCAR. It's all we ever could have dreamed of.

Only if it's for the win, otherwise he'll be better off saving it for later when it'll hurt more.

I have never liked Joey and never really been a fan of any driver, I just watch for the racing but what Matt did was not right and he has to be made to pay for it in a big way sooner or later. He pretty much ruined Joey's title shot in retaliation for something that was his own fault.

I really am not a fan of Logano, but shit, he has 6 wins, has led over 1300 laps and a 9.1 average finish yet he won't be racing for the Championship. I would be out for blood.

A few things of interest there.

- How good a season Logano has had. I've never liked the guy, but it's a joke that he can't compete for this season's title.
- How good and consistent Jr. has been this season. The top Hendrick driver.
- Danica is as bad as ever, but Tony appears to be even worse! To have all those resources and not get into the top 25 in points... I really hope the low downforce package is more to his liking or else he should have retired in 2013.
- Almirola has quietly been pretty solid.
- Biffle won't get any praise for his season, but given how bad Roush have become, I think he's really punched above where the car should be. His team mates are nowhere close. I know Bayne is seen by many to be overrated with one fluke win, but Stenhouse looked very good on his way up to Cup, and he's not up there either.
- Larson either needs to find another team, or he's not the new young hotshot that many predicted. McMurray is almost 200 points clear of him.

Kyle missed 11 raced and still climbed into the top 20. That's beyond impressive for an unplanned partial season.

The new aero package is the ONLY reason I wanna see the outcome next year. They decided to use the high drag package I woulda been long gone. I'm sure most would agree.
