I hope the teams against Manor go under themselves. F1 seems to be heading for a point where the only thing it can do is just die off and a new championship formed in its place. Unfortunately even then it would just end up quickly becoming the same old story.

The way its going in a few years time, when Merc pulls out having won about 5 titles on the trot, they'll just change the E in the title of Formula E to a 1 and pretend that was the plan all along.

Greed once again stops common sense.

This has just happened. Vijay especially was against it.

I really fucking hate this sport I'm supposed to love sometimes.
2 extra cars on the grid and especially a lot of jobs would've been saved, but no greed and selfishness triumphs again.

Fuck you F1.

2 extra backmarkers on the grid, but for how long?... and by the sounds of it Force India could use the money hence Vijay's opposition, without it we could see them dissappearing with all those jobs as well... so yes it is selfishness, the selfishness to survive in a bloody hard sport, you don't enter motorsports or Formula One thinking it'll be easily, you need to be selfish to succeed, we've seen countless teams come and go, it's just a part of motorsports, people here are acting like it's new and the end of F1 is coming.

You could make the argument that it is coming though. It's not relevant, it's appeal is dying off, teams are dying off without replacement. The racing is good, but off the track the sport is in critical condition and either egos will need to subside, or they will have to get seriously lucky before fans start to give up. You can't just assume the eyes will stay. The worlds interests are so dynamic.

F1 needs backmarkers. Even teams like FI and Sauber need them, they're not going to look very good to sponsors being the tailenders themselves.

Benson claims that one team voted no.

The schadenfreude comes from the fact that they won't make it to Melbourne either.

If FI don't make it then that would make it unanimous, just a waste of everyone's time letting FI vote in which case.

Backmarkers that can survive, I don't think Marussia will survive.

Meh. The teams are jammed so far up their own greedy arses that they can't see the forest for the trees. So when Force India (good riddance) and Sauber are next to go and they get forced to run third cars then it's their own fault.

What I don't get though, is how are Bernie and CVC supposed to line their greedy, filthy fucking pockets if there are no teams on the grid to sustain the sport they are milking off?

Good luck.

Teams come and teams go. From the 2000-2010 period there were several teams that changed investors and names: Jaguar - Red Bull, Minardi - Torro Rosso, Jordan - Midland - Spyker - Force India, Sauber - BMW - Sauber, BAR - Honda - Brawn - Mercedes, Benetton - Renault - Lotus. The only teams to actually fold were Prost, Arrows and Toyota.

But the issue we have now is that 2 teams couldn't find investors in time to stay afloat, 2 other teams are just hanging in by the skin of their teeth, 1 isn't much better. Where as during the 2000 - 2010 period there was reinvestment into the sport and the teams from their original reincarnation are still there (well 3 of them may go). So we could be faced with the situation that by the end of the year 5 teams who entered the previous years championship are gone.

Meanwhile the investment firm that owns the rights to F1 is trying to float it (read off load it) the president of the FIA is more interested in trying to sue people for pointing out their own double standards, the main man behind the scenes doesn't think that the sport needs younger people in order to survive, and the teams can't even agree on anything.

If F1 was an empire then this is surely Rome in its death throes.

The way its going F1 2015 is going its going to be the freaking Phantom Menace starring Viijay Mallia as fucking Jar Jar making the fucking Ewoks look like fucking Shaft.
Still, at least there'll be fireworks in this jumped up toy commercial /Spaced

I know its early based on one test but it looks like Red Bull and Ferrari might even be that bit closer to Mercedes next year which means the front of the field could be even more exciting than the 2 car fight of last season.
Sad thing is any more teams drop out there won't be anyone left to have a mid field battle behind them and profit when Nico and Lewis run into each other every 3rd race.

So we are hating Force India now? Keep me up to date.

In other news, Lewis and Nicole have broken up. You read it here before they are back together again.

Nah, just Vijay Mallya who just last year claimed F1 should support the small teams but now is eyeing a few million of the 30 million Manor should get where they allowed to use their 2014 car.

What does Force India have to fear from the 2014 car? It's more logical to be afraid of tiny spiders than of that car.

It's painfully clear that the teams are not fit to make these decisions as their own gain comes before the gain of the sport itself so why are they even allowed to have a say in it anyways.

F1 really lacks a leader that works hard for the long time future. Bernie only seems to care about short time gain, fuck the young fans right? Todt only cares about suing people.
More than ever we need someone that understands the current path is wrong and things need to change and that someone should also be able to tell each and every team to shut the fuck up and accept these plans to secure the longterm future or get the fuck out.

well as he's dead for nearly 7 years now it might work if we lock all teambosses up with him and release them as soon as they all agree to new cost cutting rules
