Looked like he had a little oversteer and then just touched the paint, causing the off.

That looks to me is a slight powersliding going bad on a wet surface. He hasn't touched the paint yet.

Nah, he had early to mid corner understeer which caused a little snap oversteer.

Rosberg has been given a 5 place grid penalty after Mercedes chose to replace his gearbox.

I remember when they first changed the track in 2002, F1 Digital did a track guide with Villeneuve and he said the new track was much better than the old one (trolling, as ever Jaques!) but the corner where MS and the GP2 driver crashed was insanely dangerous.
I think the quote was "you crash there, you're gonna die!"

Since then I can't really recall anyone crashing there, not in F1 anyway.
Today MS proved JV wrong

Jacques was talking about the straight between the final right hander exiting the Mercerdes Area and the right hander going into the stadium section (where Schumi crashed). There was (could still be) a wall that suddenly appeared to the driver's right.

Why is it trolling!? Of course the old track was unique and certainly classic for the fans, but from a drivers point of view it wasn't much of a challenge. You had a long straight, then a chicane followed by another straight and another chicane, and there was another straight and yet another chicane before they went onto the final straight and entered the stadium section.

Regardless, I quite like the new track.

Jacques never liked the old track. When he first came there in F1 in 1996, he said the track was not wide enough for the speeds they reach, and also that it did not provide as much passing opportunities as it should do on the paper.

I think most of us actually agree with that. But we're regretting the uniqueness of this track, the lonely 360kph ride in the forest and the insane braking before the chicanes. The way the cars jumped around on the bumpy straights. And let' not even talk about the superbike races!

I remember being excited as a kid before this race to see what top speed records would be beaten every year. Now it's just another go-kart track, and obviously go-kart tracks are exciting to drive around.

Webber's got a 5 place grid penalty for a gearbox change.
