So pumped for tomorrow's race. Questioned answered, now more questions. Shame that Kimi went out in Q1!

Bloody hell, what a qualifying! :8:

Big surprises, like Grosjean, Schumi, Maldonado. Red Bull wasn't dominating, but McLaren was. Ferrari was dreadful, Kimi made a mistake and probably wasn't aware of the time going to run out.

The race is going to be intresting, no matter what!

Melbourne rules! :flag:

What other news can you pull from your ass?

Australia has been taken over by bigfoot.

Thank god, no Red Bull dominance.

But i don't want to see a McLaren takeover, the gap between McLaren and the rest is already too big for me.

Epic grosjean! But did Kimi have problems or why did he retire so early?

He ran wide in T14 and lifted for the 3rd sector but the checkered flag was waved just before he could start a new timed lap. Probably miscommunication with the team.

I'm not saying they will be a second faster, but so far, what phil1993 posted was pretty much spot on.

Saw this from Atlas, from someone who claims to know a lot of engineers

Quote:
RBR: engineers say the RB8 has been designed for the race performance on Sunday, not qualifying performance on Saturday. So you should not expect them having as many poles as last season (unless McLaren screw things up or a track just suits them a bit better), but during the race they will be unbeatable. Their race pace is around a second a lap faster than anyone else. So the RB8 is the opposite of the RB7 which was fastest in qualifying but not so much on Sunday.

McLaren: Their car will be the best in qualifying challenged sometimes by Mercedes and occasionally RBR, so you can expect many poles this season but their race pace is much slower than RBR and a bit slower than Mercedes. They did a RB7 approach regarding this.

Mercedes: On race day they will be second fastest behind RBR, should go for a front grid in qualifying sometimes. This car suits Schumacher a lot.

Ferrari/Lotus: they will fight with each other for 4th place in Constructors. Ferrari has an almost completely new car coming around Spain, so not just updates.

Sauber: Is a very aggressive car in race pace and the way it looks now could even mingle with the Ferrari/Lotus fight. Kobayashi is very happy with the way the car responds to his input.

Force India/Williams/Torro Rosso: top of the back-markers who will sometimes get the points Ferrari/Lotus/Sauber drop.

Well, we now know Grosjean is on top form, it'll be interesting to see if Kimi will be able to keep up with him future races when they qualify closer....

Great qualifying session! It will be interesting to see what michael and Mercedes can do in tomorrows gp. Plus other than qualifying and in the DRS zones how effective will be the Mercedes passive F-duct.

Will Lotus still appeal against the F-Duct system despite one of there cars out qualifying both Mercedes?

Grosjean is beaming, so nice to see someone look absolutely delighted in the interview. Sure the big drivers usually look happy but its refreshing to see a new face there. That smile was ear to ear. Very pleased for him.
