Great podium for race 2, can't wait to download and watch both races later.

Laguna Seca is back on the calendar for 2013, which is just fantastic.

Also Jerez is back for the first time since 1990 (struck off the calendar in '94) but that is boring compared to the above news.

Now even out the rules between the world championship and national series and bring back wildcard entries, then we get back to real superbike racing.

Heavy rain over Portimao, some parts of the track flooded. STK 1000 race has been postponed.

More potential changes for the 2013 calendar:

Laguna Seca is back but Miller still has one year left in their contract
India will be hosting the second round of the championship
Jerez is the final round, in October
Monza's event is still subject to various agreements and FIM circuit homologation after this year's debacle
Sentul agreed a three-year deal starting in 2013 but this looks likely to be delayed for a year until the circuit meets FIM standards

This is the provisional calendar published by MCN which was supposedly meant to be confirmed last Friday:

Code:
Round 1       24 Feb      Australia       Phillip Island
Round 2       10 Mar      India           Buddh
Round 3       24 Mar      Spain           Aragon
Round 4       7 Apr       Netherlands     Assen
Round 5       12 May      Italy           Imola
Round 6       26 May      Europe          Donington
Round 7       9 Jun       San Marino      Misano
Round 8       16 Jun      Portugal        Portimao
Round 9       30 Jun      Czech Republic  Brno
Round 10      14 Jul      Russia          Moscow
Round 11      4 Aug       Great Britain   Silverstone
Round 12      1 Sep       Germany         Nurburgring
Round 13      29 Sep      USA             Laguna Seca
Round 14      6 Oct       France          Magny-Cours
Round 15      20 Oct      Spain           Jerez

That's almost certainly going to change before next season.

Aragon is a good circuit, Jerez is so so. In most WSBK seasons there has always been one or two tracks which have been poor, Sentul sprung to mind when I saw India (and that was before noticing Sentul is supposed to be returning!!), Miller Motorsports Park being another.

At least Donny is still there and Laguna Seca is coming back.

What would you like to see?

aragon is boring, jerez is the only track in spain that should have a race.

i'd rather see them race at kyalami or sepang than india.

a round in japan would be great, but thats unlikely i guess.

Going back to Sugo would be good. India I'll give the benefit of the doubt until race day. With races at Miller and Sentul in the past then why not India?

why should they (or any other series) race in india ?

sentul is a nice track, miller is a bad track but it was good to have a race in the usa.

As long as there is a control tyre in WSB there won't be a Japanese round; it was one of the changes that the Japanese manufacturers refused to support in 2004 and considering the MFJ Superbike series still has a choice of tyres I don't see a Japanese race any time soon.

As for India, I don't like the fact that they are expanding to countries that don't have an interest in Superbikes. Indian motorcycle racing is based around 165cc machines and their only higher capacity class is the 600cc Supersport. From that point of view I can see the appeal, and I hope we'll see some wildcards in the Supersport race, but I'd much rather have another European round that more riders are likely to travel to.

I know India doesn't have the same racing heritage of a lot of other countries but I'll give it go once and then judge. India is huge for sponsors let's remember.

WSBK now under the authority of Dorna.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Potentially a good thing for the organisation and exposure of the series, but also likely bring in pointless ideas and rules and ruin things entirely.
