Was just coming to comment on that. With the liveries on the cars those babies look so good it's silly.

The cars look great, and it's nice to see them dancing and sliding around.

I like simple paint schemes, that looks good. I think this tone of blue fits the car very well. Don't tell me you wanted to see a blue, yellow, red, green, purple, pink car....please.

Barnhart talks up the possibility of a second Harding car at some races.

http://www.racer.com/indycar/item/14672 ... lect-races

It would be very nice if there were a minimum of 24 every race this year.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

The new chassis vaguely reminds me of the Panoz DP01 for some reason.

Chavez and Harding is great news for Indycar. Kid got some real talent, and this combo could be an opportunity for him to properly school himself, like Newgarden did with Sarah Fisher.

Damn, I miss so much this car and driver. I was watching some days ago some of André Ribeiro's interviews on Youtube...it's such a shame that he abandoned a brilliant racing career to become a businessman. He became a Roger Penske's partner with Car dealerships in Brazil (I think this is a relatively known story).

I think his bad experience in Penske 1998 made he somewhat believe he would never win a race again so he may have thought he should do something to consolidate his life, economically speaking. Maybe he was right in one hand, he had a particular concern in his life, so he managed to solve his life .... but from a sports point of view, a sadness. He finished his career too damn early.

He was in his early thirties, plenty of years left. Went from the bad '97 Lola to a bad '98 Penske. Guess it just killed any love he had left to do the sport.

he suffered a lot of criticism (from Nelson Piquet) for opting Indycar instead of a career in Europe but the CART level on his days was too damn high and he was able to win in a more simple operation

According to Ribeiro himself, Roger Penske invited him on early 1998 to run a business partnership with him for a profitable brazilian car market and Ribeiro, who always had a great admiration for Penske himself was very personally impressed with that invitation in particular.

Ribeiro was so emotionally "touched" by this that talking with his relatives and even with brazilian press he stated (according to himself) the chance of being "chosen" by Penske for a business partnership wouldn't repeat that easily in the future, so he claimed he had no choice at all.

He considered trying a businessman career along a driving career but he concluded he couldn't do the two things at the same time, so he chose a businessman life. In a later interview he claimed to regret back in 1999, 2000 and 2001 because it was in that exact moment brazilian economy plunged into an economic crisis as the effects of the then "Asian evil" that afected many countries in 1999-2000. Brazil also suffered the effects of the internet bubble crisis, remember? These two events together made car market in Brazil decline and Ribeiro believe he had done the wrong choice.

Car market eventually improved years later as Economy too....so he was successful. Personally, I believe It was a bit hasty. The world wouldn't have "ended" if he hadn't entered the Business World in 1998. I think this reveals a bit of Ribeiro's anxious personality.

Things of life!
