Racing Underground (I think, might be under a new name now, heard about it alot)

and you can't follow the entire NWMT season because NASCAR doesn't tape every race

Hah, what's the point in even having the races then? Who's going to push hard when a wreck means a DNS?

apparently teams will get points from the heats too, the races will be boring, not only because sandbagging but because they are so damn long (50 laps at Bristol, 35 at Richmond etc.)

heat races would have owned if this were the 90s (like the ones they had at homestead). there aren't even 15 competitive cars in either series

Interesting combo, wonder if that will elevate the team to contender status at least.

I'm not a tony fan... at all. However I applaud him for this and wish more drivers would speak out. Bravo, dude. And thank you.

I agree with his sentiment but it's just way too little and way too late. Meaningless at this point.

I don't think it would have made a difference 10 years ago either.

It is what it is

Glad to see a driver standing up for what is right though

Whether or not it would have made a difference, it would have been encouraging on a certain level for drivers to be openly resistant to a lot of the dumber changes that have come along since '04.

You have to wonder how strongly NASCAR regulates what the drivers say. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few incidents but I can't remember a driver ever bashing the chase.

NASCAR obviously instructs the broadcast media to promote their ideas as well. It's probably written in the contracts.

Still, it's much better than the crap Jeff Gordon pulled on how he "loves the Chase". That was frickin' repulsive :yuk:

Yeah, he knows what he's talking about, he goes to smaller race tracks and has to hear all sort of crazy shit, but among that there should be a lot of great input on what they're going tru as well. But Tony is a driver already, and has been tru a lot of series, he knows a lot about it already and what he hears only adds to that. He surely could help Nascar once he retires. Brian France is in another planet compared to that, and I'm sure he only has a small share on the decisions of Nascar, probably a big concil with lot's of interest in wealth.
