I remember pre-season in 2007-08 when all the teams could have a shot in the championship "look out, BMW and Toyota could have a shot on the championship", but in the end it was McLaren and Ferrari winning boring races

I don't remember anyone ever uttering the words "Toyota could have a shot at the championship". The only two times they ever looked somewhat competitive in 2005 and 2009, they still managed to shoot themselves in the foot.

The worst off season for me was pre 2004.

After such a great 2003 the media was full of hype of the 2004 season being a scrap between ferrari, mclaren, Williams, Renault amd even b.a.r.
Then we all arrived at Melbourne with ferrari 1 second ahead of everyone and it was a massive dissapointment

Never liked refueling, Always felt it had a negative effect on the racing & didn't really bring anything of value.

I was in the same room as fia demon Jean todt for a while yesterday. Had I known 20 mins later he was to talk about refuelling again I'd have kicked him in his stupid dwarf shin the napoleon of Motorsport :slaphead:

All that extra expense hauling the equipment around the world just to make thr sport worse and that little bit more dangerous to boot...

Lets take a bad situation and make it even worse.

Everyone is so busy making and then changing new rules for 2017, probably to draw away the attention from a guaranteed boring 2016.

Sounds more like distracting the viewers from the real issue by adding more artificial show :(

Williams will unveil their car on the 22nd of this month. It seem quite late this year that teams are not even revealing the release/unveil dates. Maybe they're all searching for a last minute sponsor...

Looking forward to seeing the Hass F1 car unveiling

No.

Only 2 pre-season test's this year both at Barcelona. The first from February 22nd-25th & then another the following week from March 1st-4th. There will also be 2 in-season 2 day test's on the Tuesday/Wednesday's after the Spanish & British Gp's.

I think there will also be some additional days where 'some' teams will be asked to make cars/drivers available to conduct tyre test's in preparation for next year.

Post race tests should be used more often

If they seriously want to ban wind tunnels, it must be substituted

I'd like to witness some of the discussions going on in the strategy group.
I bet it goes like this

Guy 1: Hey I was googling for passing in F1 and found these 2 documents. One is about the effect on on-track passing by refueling and the other is a study on how ground effect and less dirty air will increase passing. I haven't read both however.
Guy 2: Isn't that first one based on real data?
Guy 1: Yes, the other is just a study.
Guy 3: We should go for the one that is based on real data then.
Guy 1: So, we should reintroduce refueling
Guy 2: Think so.
Guy 3: yes
Guy 4: I happened to found this article on the dangers of rough water in F1. Writer is kinda weird as he keeps referring to "powerboats" instead of cars but maybe its because he's American, but I think we should stop racing in the wet.
Guy 1: Yes we should. Racing in rough water is dangerous according to that article you skimmed over.
All: agreed

If Ferrari wanted to do something memorable, they should have just launched the Haas F1 car.

Williams will launch their car on february 22, quite possible that they could send pics of the 2 past years and most people, some even from the press wouldn't even notice
