Pretty shocking to see Phoenix off the schedule. IIRC that race only sucked because it was just 50 laps.

I wish they'd get rid of that side blade. Kind of sticks out like a sore thumb and I bet it's not good for sideforce. Oh well.

Well if it didn't serve a purpose there's no way the engineers would want it on the car.

Still, I agree that it should be ditched. The less sideforce the better. ALWAYS.

Cut the side skirts off while you're at it, all the time the cars rely on skirts, the racing won't change much.

To be fair, just the changes in the two low downforce races last year created noticeably better racing. Ditching the skirts would be great though.

Didn't those races had more extreme changes, smaller oil pan, shorter splitter etc. What they've done is met half way so I'm not totally sold on all the races being as good as those two, having said that, I'd love to be proven wrong.

as long as the cars remain vacuumed to the track, the problems will remain

I assumed the 2016 package was the same as the Darlington/Kentucky races? I'll be very disappointed if they've met in the middle and managed to cock up the racing for another year. And yes, get rid of the side skirts.

My only hope is that it was obvious to everybody that the low downforce package gave us the best racing last season, and the high downforce package was appalling. I can't see why they would ever risk allowing too much downforce again, but this is NASCAR we're talking about...

I did some Googling... It's pretty close to the Kentucky/Darlington package. The only difference is the radiator pan: 3.5-inch spoiler, a 0.25-inch front leading splitter edge and a 33-inch wide radiator pan. Kentucky and Darlington last year used a 25-inch wide radiator pan.

8 inches will produce bucket loads of vacuum/downforce, so the nun said to the vicar.

The truck series is looking to be really fun this year. Haven't seen a cup driver in sight of a ride...all KBM and BKR rides are scheduled to be regulars. Prolly a damn Dillion Boy here and there but otherwise the roster is legit.

It doesn't sound like Kyle Busch is planning on running any races in the #51. It sounds like it's going to be mainly Suarez, Coughlin and Tifft sharing time in that truck.
