Agreed. It's such a complex discussion point that you could write a book about all of the influences/outcomes for a specific venue and the overall theme.

Ie, the UAE is now expanding beyond the 'throw a fuck load of money at it' mentality and looking towards long-term sustainability, so they should be OK. But any race which relies heavily on government funding is always going to have a problem. Mexico may be the exception, but they have the advantage of a passionate fan-base, local hero and an ideal location. We'll see what it's like in 4-5 years' time. Korea was doomed from the start, as was Valencia when the economy nose-dived. India's tax situation was its primary problem. Equally, you can look at maybe 2/3 if not more of the current calendar with a question mark.

Still, if COTA runs out of money, Tavo can work on a new project with high-fees and add more money to CVC's coffers. Who cares about long-term sustainability...

In more Tavo Hellmund news, he and a group of investors want to take over Manor and run Dale Earnhardt Jnr as the lead driver

If this were the radio le mans forum there'd now be a 2 week debate about the judge being a questionable source and whether it should be a bannable offence for people to link to it.

And then the story will be 100% accurate as usual

Still, I hope there's not an existing racetrack in the US they're eyeing to "bring up to F1 spec", I like them all as they are.

To me an unstable calender is the very epitome of what is wrong with the current state of F1. I see it as the whoring out of F1 to the highest bidder with no sustainable long term commitment, and in my eyes at least it cheapens and debases the whole show. Especially when the grandstands are half empty at the newer venues, and becoming increasingly empty at the traditional ones.

Hosting an F1 race is all about money. If you have it, you get it. If you don't, adiós.

Silly, the 'us market' was oh so important.

Lol. 25 million us dollar subsidies. Dear lord, i knew the prices were ridiculous. But thìs ridiculous???

It would be fun if circuits (organisers) got together, formed a cartel of sorts and all pulled out together.

I hope he is #blessed with suitable insurance. Can't imagine any 'low-speed collision' in Monaco being a cheap one.

Whatever happened, it was Nico's fault.

How the hell can F1 charge so much, when Moto GP and Nascar are around $1 million a pop and provide far better entertainment.

Have a word with yourself Bernie.

As long as places are actually willing to pay it it wont change.

And I bet that if you tell one of those sheiks that another sheik is paying a few million more they demand to pay even more than that as it all status for them.
